In order to better facilitate professional development for teacher educators and better prepare tomorrow\u0026amp;#39;s teacher educators it is necessary to effectively and successfully integrate ICTs in their classrooms and therefore it has become necessary to examine teacher educators attitude towards ICT competencies and their uses of ICT in their respective courses being taught. The objectives of the present study ids to find out whether there is any significant difference in the attitude between male and female, graduate and post graduate, trained and untrained, rural and urban teacher educators towards information and communication technology competencies and its usage. A random sampling method was taken and a sample of hundred teacher educators was taken from four different teacher training colleges of Aligarh district. A self-constructed questionnaire was developed by the researcher and was used for the collection of data. The results of the findings indicate that most of the teacher educators expressed positive attitude about integration of ICT into teacher education programs as well as a positive and healthy attitude towards ICT competencies and its usage. The findings of the results revealed that the attitude of the teacher educators towards competency and usage in ICT is not affected by their gender, qualification and ICT training but it is affected by locality. The teacher educators who are belonging to rural and urban areas have been found to have significant difference in their attitude towards ICT competency and usage. Owing to:: Teacher Educators Attitude Towards Information And Communication Technology Competencies And Usage-An Empirical Study the knowledge explosion and tremendously fast changing ICT, the teachers sometimes find it rather difficult to cope with the new intellectual challenges being thrown up by the changed global and local context. This is probably one of the main reasons for the inadequate academic, professional and pedagogic preparation and insufficient level of knowledge and skills of the faculty. The teacher educators therefore need to acquire new knowledge and reliable and authentic information about the use and implementation of ICTs in the teaching leanring ICT can enhance the quality of education in several ways, by increasing learner motivation and engagement, by facilitating the acquisition of basic skills, and by enhancing teacher training. ICT provide-motivation to learn. ICT such as videos, television and multimedia computer software that combine text, sound, and colourful moving images can be used to provide challenging and authentic content that will engage the student in the learning process. The study was conducted in urban areas of Lucknow city of Uttar Pradesh, in the year 2016. A total of 150 samples which include students and their teachers of secondary level classes selected randomly by government and private schools. Data collected by self made questionnaire which is standardized by specific subject experts. For data analysis t-test was used in research. The result revealed that significance differences shown in use of ICT as an educational tool in secondary school education on the basis of teacher's age. The hypothesis was rejected. ICT in school management system will assist schools to plan for the effective use of digital technologies in their everyday practices to prepare students for the demands of an ever-changing world, to achieve powerful learning and teaching, and improve learning, teaching and administration. ICT as any object which allows students and teachers to get information through to electronic communication. (Singh & Mishra, 2016) ICT have demonstrated potential to increase the options, access, participation, and achievement for all students. The potentials of information and communication technology (ICT) to facilitate students' learning, improve teaching and enhance institutional administration had been established in literature. Teachers generate meaningful and engaging learning experiences for their students, strategically using ICT to enhance learning. The framework is then improved towards a new framework that can be effectively used to evaluate information and communication technology use in pre-service teacher education. In this study the independent variables are derived from computer use within the institution, some other extraneous factor may have impact on the results. Those factors may be computer use at home, friend's home and cyber or internet centers by the respondents. It is an attempt has been made to hold these extraneous variables, but it is very difficult to determine at what extent which affect the result. Introduction There is an emerging broad consensus worldwide about the benefits that can be brought to school and teacher education through the appropriate use of evolving information and communication technologies. The range of possible benefits covers practically all areas of activity in which knowledge and communication play a critical role: from improved teaching and learning processes to better student learning outcomes, from increased student engagement to seamless communication with parents and from school networking and twinning to more efficient management and monitoring within the school. All in all, this is not surprising since the windows of opportunity that ICT offers for the development of knowledge economies and societies are open also for education. A number of issues may hinder schools and teachers in their efforts to fully benefit from these windows of opportunity. They may not be able to afford the equipment, they may lack access to the Internet, or suitable materials might not be available in their own language. However, a fundamental issue is whether teachers know how to use ICT effectively in their teaching. Clearly, the way ICT is used will depend on the subject being taught, the learning objectives and the nature of the students. Nonetheless, it is important to set out the basic principles which should guide the use of ICT in teaching, and this is what the UNESCO ICT Competency Framework for Teachers (ICT-CFT) project does. The Framework project draws attention to the many ways in which ICT can transform education. When the problem of quantity of education is being tackled, there is an urge for raising the quality of life, which is possible only if there is raise in the quality of education. The quality of life and the quality of education go together. Educationalists are of the opinion that the educational problems relating to the quality and quantity could be tackled by the development of an Educational Technology. Therefore, in recent years all over the world there has been a rapid development of Communication Technology in education at all levels with a purpose of extending educational facilities and upgrading instructional methodology. The present study tries to trace out the ICT awareness, use and need of the teacher educators of B.Ed. Colleges of Hyderabad Karnataka region. It was a mixed method study. Quantitative data were collected from 100 teachers of secondary schools Rawalpindi. Descriptive statistics was applied and results were found out through percentage, mean, frequency and standard deviation. Interviews were also conducted with the secondary school teachers. Quantitative data revealed that teachers use only those ICT tools in which they have adequate level of knowledge. Qualitative data also backed these results and highlighted that teachers’ lack knowledge in ICT tools therefore they don&#39;t utilize them.
