When the problem of quantity of education is being tackled, there is an urge for raising the quality of life, which is possible only if there is raise in the quality of education. The quality of life and the quality of education go together. Educationalists are of the opinion that the educational problems relating to the quality and quantity could be tackled by the development of an Educational Technology. Therefore, in recent years all over the world there has been a rapid development of Communication Technology in education at all levels with a purpose of extending educational facilities and upgrading instructional methodology. The present study tries to trace out the ICT awareness, use and need of the teacher educators of B.Ed. Colleges of Hyderabad Karnataka region. Information and communication technologies (ICT) have become common place entities in all aspects of life. Within education, ICT has begun to have a presence but the impact has not been as extensive as in other fields. Education is a very socially oriented activity and quality education has traditionally been associated with strong teachers having high degrees of personal contact with learners. The use of ICT in education lends itself to more student-centered learning settings and often this creates some tensions for some teachers and students. But with the world moving rapidly into digital media and information, the role of ICT in education is becoming more and more important and this importance will continue to grow and develop in the 21st century. This paper highlights the awareness of ICT on contemporary teacher training institutions of education and explores potential future developments. From the study conducted, it is evident that information and communication technologies (ICT) have significant difference among male and female teacher educators (t=3.14, p<0.05). Research has also shown, significant difference with respect to Government, Aided and Unaided management institution teacher educators (f=12.36, p, 0.05). The paper argues that success in the use of ICT in education depends largely on teachers and their level of skill in integrating ICT into the teaching process and in utilizing ICT to provide learner-centred, interactive education. Questionnaires are used for data collection. Total 100 questionnaires were distributed to secondary school teachers, in which all of them were completed and returned. Collected data was analyzed and presented in percentage and also in tabular form for better understanding. Result was deduced and conclusion was interpreted after the analysis of data. The study reports that use of computer and internet exist between the teachers of different age groups and various backgrounds. The overall finding of the study reports that teachers are quite aware of ICT tools but are moderately using ICT for professional purposes. Teachers using ICT skills from Amgaon block of Maharashtra State for all subjects are 62%. The percentage of interested teachers wants to use ICT skills from Amgaon block of Maharashtra State is 78%. But due to lack of ICT facilities and lack of ICT trainings, the teachers do not aware about the use of ICT skills in teaching-learning process. Most of the teachers of the sample schools were undergone ICT related basic level of training programmes with having duration of three months. Status of teachers in the context of ICT knowledge particularly in word processing, database management, spread sheet software, audio-video editing software, website creation, blog, Wikipedia, social networking, Google groups and e-mail, online video chat, online text chat, video conferencing, streaming media, PDF files archiving, etc and its uses in teaching-learning are also found to include in ds2-5-body-sm">In this study the use of ICTs Competency Framework for Teachers (ICT-CFT), to identify the strengths and weaknesses of ICT-CFT in evaluating ICT use in Colleges of Education and to improve the ICT-CFT to meet evaluation needs of ICTs in teacher education as it is input for the study. The competency framework for teachers was then used to evaluate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) used in pre-service teacher education that is B.Ed. to enable the investigator to identify its strengths and weaknesses. The framework is then improved towards a new framework that can be effectively used to evaluate information and communication technology use in pre-service teacher education. In this study the independent variables are derived from computer use within the institution, some other extraneous factor may have impact on the results. Those factors may be computer use at home, friends home and cyber or internet centers by the respondents. The study covers 100 teachers comprising of 50 trained (25 male & 25 female) and 50 untrained (25 male & 25 female) categories as well as 50 administrative personnel&#39;s (25 male &25 female). The results of chi-square test expressed that teachers and administrative personnel of education department are in the same level of opinions about the use of ICT in school education. From the study, it is revealed untrained teachers are more in favor to use ICT in school education than trained teachers.
