Amongst its objectives were ascertaining the weaknesses associated with introducing the technology by identifying the threats emanating from infusing modern technology into the industry. The importance of the study lies in the fact that the findings and recommendations will not only go a very long way to enrich the body of knowledge on the subject of Kente weaving business in Ghana, but will also help make the cottage industry more attractive to the youth and uplift the living standards of the Kente weavers. Challenges associated with the initiative had to do with the fact that most of the weavers are old and illiterates so a lot of work has to be done in coaching them to come on board with the new technology. The Ghanaians have a rich cultural heritage that they cherish most. This cultural heritage could be seen through the way they dress during occasions such as funerals, weddings, festivals, durbars and naming ceremonies. Some of the fabrics that people wear during these occasions are Kente cloths, &quot;nteimu&quot; and &quot;kuntukuni&quot; cloths (clothes stamped with locally prepared dyes). The Kente, &quot;nteimu&quot; and &quot;kuntukuni&quot; are locally produced by the people of Bonwire, Adawonmase and Ntonso. Although these clothes have some special designs and motifs that make them unique and aesthetically pleasing, they have not been effectively and comprehensively researched. This study intends to identify and describe the various designs and motifs in these fabrics, and then give the philosophical meanings associated with the designs and the motifs in them. The descriptive research design which is under the qualitative research approach was espoused to accomplish the goal and purpose of the study. In all, 20 woven Kente fabrics were sampled for the study using a purposive sampling technique. Of these, 5 were used for festival celebrations, 5 for marriage ceremonies, 5 for funeral celebrations and 5 for durbars and parties. The primary data was collected using interviews, observations and opinionnaire. The results showed that designs and motifs which are seen in the Kente cloths have philosophical meaning that can help one to understand his or her culture. In addition, some of the motifs and designs used to produce the various fabrics exhibit the creative abilities of our forefathers and their belief system. Traditional African textiles, coming from a long tradition of weaving and relating to philosophy, oral literature, history, ethics, religious belief, and political thoughts, are an example of tangible (fabric) and intangible (art of weaving) Cultural Heritage to be safeguarded by their knowledge and use. This is the case of Kente cloth, one of the most famous and precious hand-woven African fabrics: crafted since the 17th century by village communities of the Ashanti Region and worn by Ghanaian kings, this ceremonial fabric is still considered a luxury item and a cultural asset to be protected. In the last few centuries, the African emigrants’ displacement has favoured traditional fabrics knowledge worldwide, but their perception and meaning have changed within new global contexts and communities: promoting creativity applied to traditional fabrics for actualising their use while respecting values and tradition is now challenging. This paper illustrates “Korai x Kente”, a fashion eco-design and eco-craft project of inclusive and sustainable business, developed between Ghana and Sicily by the Italian Cultural and Creative Industry “Kòrai – Territorio, Sviluppo e Cultura”, and endorsed by the Honorary Consulate of Ghana in Sicily. The project, aimed at promoting the traditional Kente cloth and the integration among different cultures, focuses on social innovation and interculturalism, involves weavers of local communities in Ghana producing the Kente cloth and Sicilian designers and craftsmen creating traditional and contemporary eco-design and eco-craft objects in Kente, whose cultural values are also shared on a web platform. The paper investigated the origin of Dagara traditional cloth, the types of cloths produced among Dagara people, names of the cloths. It further looked at symbolism and the significance of traditional cloths produced in Dagara culture. Methodology: The study was qualitative and employed random and purposive sampling techniques to select participants for the study. Data were gathered from Dagara people in the Nandom District using Semi-structured interviews. Data were then transcribed and analysed using the Thematic method of analysis. Results: The study revealed that Lowԑgya is a significant traditional cloth among Dagara. It was also revealed that Kpognali, kaakublu, kyinkyin pen, Lier pen among others are some of the cloths produced by Dagara people and each of these cloths is named representing the name of an animal, part of an animal or an event. It was also found out that the various cloths are used based on the status of the person. It also seeks to examine the core benefits of polyester fibre, identify and document its production processes and discusses its commercial benefits that are likely to increase with further technological improvement in its production. The methodology employed was the qualitative approach and the descriptive survey. Observation and interviews were the research instruments used to gather data. The study found that Polyester is the most commonly used fibre in Ghana and accounts for 61% of total textile imports in Ghana. The study concludes that polyester fibre production is commercially viable in Ghana. The term apparel production is usually used when garments are manufactured in a factory. One of the basic necessities of human life, apart from food and shelter, is apparel (Winck, 2009). People wear clothing for a number of reasons: modesty, survival, fashion and identification. Clothing provides clues as to who we are and what we do and allows us to express our identity (Reeve, 2014). It has transcended from the initial dressing for modesty, protection and adornment (thus, dressing to decorate the body for appreciation) to immodesty, which has to do with dressing to seduce or look attractive (Tweneboa, personal communication, October 14, 2017). One of the many things that ensure that apparel appeals to the wearer through some form of decoration or finishing technique is the use of support fabrics. Support fabrics take care of the shape and structure of either part of or the whole apparel as it prevents stretching and bagging in soft fabrics; adds body to a garment in such areas as the edge of the front opening, lapel and collar; and keeps rough-textured fabrics from rubbing against your skin (Mead and Siemen, 2011). Support fabrics help to enhance the structure of the fabric to look very appealing and attractive. According to Jennah McKinley, (2016) a garment&#39;s shape is enhanced through the application of certain finishing techniques that take many forms, from soft and drapery to crisp and firm, and the construction techniques used for shaping and reinforcing certain areas of the garment are selected to create that silhouette or shape. She adds that methods for creating a garment silhouette vary according to the fashion fabric, the type of garment, and the care procedures for the finished garment. The silhouette of a garment can be shaped and reinforced with support fabrics, such as interfacing, lining and underlining. In essence, the role support fabrics play in the apparel industry in Ghana cannot be swept under the carpet due to the kinds of finish, enhancement or decoration it brings to the apparel. The finishing of apparel is an area that needs attention if Ghanaian apparel is to meet standards and cut across cultural barriers in making its way into other international markets. However, over the years, apparels produced by some fashion designers in the Sekondi-Takoradi have been made by paying little or no attention to details or finishing, as per the researcher&#39;s observation.
