Consideramos que éste se debe a la reconsideración de la relación entre la visión de mundo y la filosofía, basada en el giro metontológico que se propone al final del curso sobre lógica de 1928. Asimismo, rechazaremos la existencia de un programa pedagógico platónico en este período, y que, durante estos años, la defensa de la tradicional Bildung universitaria se apoyará en los planteos Si bien es cierto que dicha conexión aparece establecida sistemáticamente en Ser y Tiempo, ya está anticipada en el ciclo de estas lecciones y tiene en ella una relevancia sobre todo en el plano metódico. La propuesta consiste por tanto en que, visto de esta manera, la conexión implica el establecimiento de un ideal regulativo de determinación de la propia existencia que comprende elementos evidentemente temporales. It is purported in the first place to render an account of the personal circumstances that convinced Heidegger of modifying his own early purposes of becoming a priest, then a theologian and finally a confessional Catholic philosopher by means of an examination of the philosophical themes which motivate his early work (Neokantianism, medieval speculative grammar and Husserlian phenomenology). A partir de esta imposibilidad, Heidegger buscará conciliar en un nuevo proyecto estas dos exigencias, lo cual dará origen a la Metontología, que, junto con la ontología fundamental, conformaría el auténtico sentido de la Metafísica del Dasein.
