Da questa Esposizione, le tracce storiche vanno oltre all'unico padiglione rimasto tutt'oggi [diventato l'Acquario Civico à conservato come esempio dello stile liberty-eclettico]. Per molte ragioni, la data 1906 e il riferimento all'Esposizione del Sempione costituiscono un buon punto di partenza per prendere in esame il volto della città di Milano nei primi anni del nuovo secolo. Alcuni episodi diedero una nuova connotazione alla città: • nascita del primo Ateneo in Italia (economia) à Bocconi • inizio dell'attività poetica del periodico "Poesia" (1905) di Filippo Tommaso Marinetti à servirà poi a coniare (1909) il Futurismo e dar via a una nuova concezione estetica • crescita urbana grazie all'industrializzazione à moltiplicazione degli stabilimenti che estendevano la zona periferica di Milano (fascia operaia) Questa realtà venne rappresentata da Boccioni, Carrà e Russolo che andranno a formare il versante visivo del Futurismo milanese à osservavano la città e la rappresentavano nelle diverse connotazioni (tutte volte alla modernità). Il Futurismo contribuì anche a definire l'immagine della città [presenza essenziale nei musei di Milano à Pinacoteca di Brera / Museo del Novecento]. Inoltre, è strettamente legato anche al versante imprenditoriale, espansivo e innovativo. Lo sviluppo del Futurismo porta a una nuova aggregazione di artisti che andranno a riunirsi inizialmente sotto il Novecento Italiano à prima presentazione alla galleria Pesaro di Milano nel 1923 (le gallerie-quali Pesaro, Scopinich, Milano, Bardi e Milione-segnarono il passaggio verso una concezione del ruolo mercantile e culturale dei luoghi promotori dell'arte). Si esaminano i rapporti tra gli artisti, il loro coinvolgimento nella vita della città: Milano ebbe un ruolo in primo piano nel panorama dell'arte del periodo [come promozione e organizzazione delle attività artistiche à es. 1926-1929 mostre del Novecento] e ospitò alcuni tra i passaggi fondamentali che portarono alla concezione dell'arte destinata agli spazi pubblici. Questa concezione monumentale dell'arte si lega alla promozione di interventi architettonici vòlti a riformulare il volto di Milano [es. basilica di Sant'Ambrogio, Monumento ai Caduti della Grande Guerra e gli edifici dell'Università Cattolica, l'intervento attorno al Duomo con la costruzione del palazzo dell'Arengario]. La città che cresce Nel 1906, Milano ospitò l'Esposizione internazionale del Sempione [dedicata al tema dei trasporti in occasione dei festeggiamenti per l'apertura del traforo del Sempione]. Si svolse in padiglioni costruiti per l'occasione divisa in due aree collegate da una ferrovia elettrica [1) dietro il Castello Sforzesco fino all'Arco della Pace; 2) nella Piazza delle Armi]. Nei vari padiglioni si trattarono diversi argomenti à Belle Arti, Arte decorativa, Galleria del Lavoro, Agraria, Igiene, Piscicoltura, Metrologia ecc…Vennero realizzate più di 225 costruzioni [tra le quali, l'Acquario Civico] Il padiglione dell'acquario Questo edificio è quello che tiene ancora in sé i caratteri liberty. Il tono predominante è quella di una decorazione floreale su una decorazione ancora eclettica, mette insieme i diversi stili, dal classico al moderno. Materiale iconografico à sono interessanti le pubblicità o le immagini o il giornale dell'Esposizione. Archeologia dell’architettura, n° 9 2004 (2006), ISSN 1126-6236, pp 9-31</p><p class="ds-related-work--abstract ds2-5-body-sm">È già stata presentata, su questa rivista, la possibilità di ricavare da uno studio sistematico delle fonti scritte una chiave di lettura delle fonti materiali e di ottenere un aumento reciprocamente alimentato, nell’incrocio delle informazioni tra documenti scritti e oggetti, della conoscenza del costruito storico. Nella stessa linea di ricerca si colloca questo apporto che si configura come un tentativo di esplorare un diverso genere di fonte scritta rispetto a quelle già presentate, che sono soprattutto i capitolati contenuti nelle filze notarili.Si tratta dei conti di fabbrica, che, almeno in area genovese, si reperiscono più facilmente in archivi privati che in quelli pubblici, già esplorati in queste altre occasioni.
