I have given you for food to the beasts of the wilderness, and to the birds of Heaven<p> <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/29-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>And all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I AM LORD JEHOVAH, for you have been as a staff of reed to those of the house of Israel<p> <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/29-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>When they seized you with their hands, you pierced their hands, and when they leaned upon you, you broke, and you made their loins shake<p> <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/29-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>Therefore, thus says THE LORD OF LORDS: “Behold, I bring a sword upon you, and I shall destroy from you the children of man and beast <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/29-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>And the land of Egypt shall be for destruction and for the sword, and they shall know that I AM LORD JEHOVAH, because you said, "The river is mine, and I made it" <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/29-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>Because of this, behold, I am against you and against your river, and I shall give the land of Egypt to destruction and to the sword, from the tower of Suna and unto the borders of Kush <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/29-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>A foot of a son of man shall not cross in it, neither a hoof of cattle, and you shall not inhabit it for forty years <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/29-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>And I shall give the land of Egypt to destruction among the cities that are deserted, and her cities shall be for destruction forty years among the cities that are desolate, and I shall scatter Egypt among the nations, and I shall scatter them among the countries<p> <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/29-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>Thus says THE LORD OF LORDS: after forty years I shall gather the Egyptians from the nations among whom they were scattered <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/29-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>And I shall lead the captivity of Egypt and I shall settle them in the land of Pathros, in the land from which they were sold, and they shall be a humble kingdom there <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/29-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>And she shall be humbler than all kingdoms, and she shall not be exalted again above the nations, and I shall diminish them that they shall not enslave nations <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/29-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>And they shall not be for the hope or for the memory of evil to the house of Israel again, because they went after them, and they shall know that I AM THE LORD OF LORDS<p> <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/29-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>In twenty and seventh year, in the first month, on the first of the month, the word of LORD JEHOVAH was upon me, saying: <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/ezekiel/29-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>“Son of man, Nebukadnetsar, King of Babel, subjected all his army to great bondage against Tyre;
