href="/parallel/john/20-1.htm#aramaic"><b>1</b></a></span>But on the first day of the week, in the very early morning while it was dark, Maryam Magdalitha came to the tomb and she saw the stone that had been removed from the tomb. <A name="3"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-2.htm#aramaic"><b>2</b></a></span>And she ran and came to Shimeon Kaypha and to that other disciple whom Yeshua had loved, and she said to them, “They have taken away our Lord from the tomb, and I don't know where they have laid him.” <A name="4"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-3.htm#aramaic"><b>3</b></a></span>Shimeon went out and that other disciple, and they came to the tomb. <A name="5"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-4.htm#aramaic"><b>4</b></a></span>And they were both running together, but that disciple ran in front of Shimeon and he came first to the tomb. <A name="6"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-5.htm#aramaic"><b>5</b></a></span>And he looked, gazing at the linens where they were lying, but he did not enter. <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>Then Shimeon came after him and entered the tomb, gazing at the linens where they were lying, <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>And a grave cloth, which had been bound about his head, not with the linens, but as it was wrapped and set on the side in one place. <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>Then that other disciple entered, who came first to the tomb, and he stared and he believed. <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>And those disciples departed again to their place.<p> <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>But they had not yet known from the scriptures that he was going to rise from the dead.<p> <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>But Maryam was standing at the tomb and was weeping, and while weeping she looked inside the tomb. <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>And she saw two Angels in white sitting, one at his pillow, and one at the foot, where the body of Yeshua had been laid. <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>And they were saying to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “They have taken away my Lord, and I don't know where they have laid him.” <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>She said this and turned and saw Yeshua standing and she did not know that he was Yeshua. <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>Yeshua said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping, and whom are you seeking?” But she thought he was the Gardener, and she said to him, “Sir, if you have taken him, tell me where you have laid him; I will go take him away.” <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>Yeshua said to her, “Maryam.” And she turned and said to him in Judean Aramaic, “Rabbuli”, which is to say “Teacher.” <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>Yeshua said to her. “Don't cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to join my Father, and go join my brothers and say to them that I ascend to join my Father and your Father, my God, and your God.” <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>And Maryam Magdalitha came and announced to the disciples, “I have seen Our Lord”, and that he had said these things to her.<p> <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>But when it was evening of the first day of the week and the doors were barred where the disciples were staying, because of fear for the Judeans, Yeshua came and stood in their midst and he said to them, “Peace be with you.” <A name="21"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-20.htm#aramaic"><b>20</b></a></span>He said this and he showed them his hands and his side and the disciples rejoiced because they saw Our Lord. <A name="22"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-21.htm#aramaic"><b>21</b></a></span>But Yeshua said to them again, “Peace be with you. Just as my Father has sent me, I also am sending you.” <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-22.htm#aramaic"><b>22</b></a></span>When he had said these things, he breathed upon them and he said to them, “Receive The Spirit of Holiness.” <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>“If you will forgive a man's sins, they will be forgiven him, and if you hold a man's, they will be held.”<p> <A name="25"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-24.htm#aramaic"><b>24</b></a></span>But Thoma, one of the twelve, who is called The Twin, he was not there when Yeshua had come. <A name="26"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-25.htm#aramaic"><b>25</b></a></span>And the disciples were saying to him, “We have seen Our Lord”, but he said to them, “Unless I see in his hands the places of the nails and I shall put my fingers in them, and reach my hand into his side, I will not believe.”<p> <A name="27"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-26.htm#aramaic"><b>26</b></a></span>And after eight days, again the disciples were inside and Thoma was with them and Yeshua came when the doors were barred; he stood in the center and he said to them, “Peace be with you.” <A name="28"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-27.htm#aramaic"><b>27</b></a></span>And he said to Thoma, “Put your finger here and behold my hands and put your hand and reach into my side and do not be an unbeliever, but a believer.” <A name="29"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-28.htm#aramaic"><b>28</b></a></span>And Thomas answered and said to him, “My Lord, and my God.” <A name="30"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/john/20-29.htm#aramaic"><b>29</b></a></span>Yeshua said to him, “Now that you have seen me, you have believed.
