fa-caret-down"></i></span></a><span class="js-work-more-abstract-untruncated hidden">A substituted pyrimidine derivatives were synthesized from chalcone of 3-acetyl-2,5-dimethyl thiophene with corresponding active aldehyde in microwave oven. The newly synthesized compounds were characterized by TLC, IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR spectral analysis. Pyrimidine derivative were screened for their antibacterial activity in vitro by the disk diffusion assay against two Gram-positive and two Gram-negative bacteria and then the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was carried with the reference of standard drugs amoxicillin, ampicillin and ciprofloxacin. A bacterium that degrades clothianidin was isolated from the pesticide and applied to agricultural soil by the enrichment technique. Sulphonated azo dyes represent a large class of dyes used in textile industries. The precursors of these dyes are sulphonated aromatic amines. Release of such toxic compounds in the environment cause toxic effects on soil fertility and aquatic ecosystem. Limited attention has been paid towards the fate of sulphonated aromatic amines and substituted sulphonated aromatic amines in the environment previously. The present research work describes biodegradation of azo dye precursor 1-amino 2-napthol 4-sulphonic acid by Pseudomonas desmolyticum NCIM 2112 which was studied by FTIR and GCMS analysis. The leftover pesticide residue needs to be remediated effectively. Compared to physical, chemical and enzymatic remediation options the microbial remediation is more practical and sustainable. Materials and Methods: The Pseudomonas stutzeri smk strain was found to use dichlorvos as the solitary carbon source. The newly synthesized compounds were characterized by TLC, IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR spectral analysis. Pyrimidine derivative were screened for their antibacterial activity in vitro by the disk diffusion assay against two Gram-positive and two Gram-negative bacteria and then the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was carried with the reference of standard drugs amoxicillin, ampicillin and ciprofloxacin. A bacterium that degrades clothianidin was isolated from the pesticide and applied to agricultural soil by the enrichment technique. Sulphonated azo dyes represent a large class of dyes used in textile industries. The precursors of these dyes are sulphonated aromatic amines. Release of such toxic compounds in the environment cause toxic effects on soil fertility and aquatic ecosystem. Limited attention has been paid towards the fate of sulphonated aromatic amines and substituted sulphonated aromatic amines in the environment previously. The present research work describes biodegradation of azo dye precursor 1-amino 2-napthol 4-sulphonic acid by Pseudomonas desmolyticum NCIM 2112 which was studied by FTIR and GCMS analysis. The leftover pesticide residue needs to be remediated effectively. Compared to physical, chemical and enzymatic remediation options the microbial remediation is more practical and sustainable. Materials and Methods: The Pseudomonas stutzeri smk strain was found to use dichlorvos as the solitary carbon source. Minimal medium supplemented with dichlorvos was used to test ability of bacterium to degrade pesticide aerobically. The metabolites produced by the bacterium were studied with UV-Vis spectrophotometry, HPLC, FTIR and GC-MS techniques.
