So, teachers need to acquire the knowledge and the techno-pedagogical competence to execute and achieve better outcomes in the teaching learning situations. Not only teachers, but students also require having minimum exposure to this computer based educational technologies. This study aimed at measuring the impact of antecedent knowledge and techno-pedagogical competence of teachers on the achievement of the learners after implementation of a complete computer based interactive multimedia courseware. For this purpose Solomon's four group research designs was adopted, where two pairs of equivalent experimental and control groups of students along with their teachers were purposively selected by matched pair sampling from two schools. During the implementation of the interactive courseware the antecedent knowledge and techno-pedagogical competence of the teachers were measured and compared. The result revealed that only knowledge is not sufficient to implement such type of technology in the classroom both knowledge and techno-pedagogical competence can be taken into consideration. Besides this, a minimum level of the antecedent knowledge and techno-pedagogical competence of teachers are also necessary for successful implementation of the Courseware. Science, chemistry specifically is an observable field of study. As such, students gain experience in chemistry not only when taught in their classes by their teachers, but also by observations through interaction with their environment. If these experiences are not in line with the scientific truth about a certain concept, they turn to build misconceptions when the new experience is introduced to them. Acid-base chemistry is one of the areas of chemistry that was endowed with a lot of misconceptions. This study determines the conciseness and effectiveness of interactive courseware in overcoming misconceptions in learning acid-based chemistry. Most of the misconceptions generated were been intensified by the instructional strategies, teaching and learning materials used by the teachers. To overcome these misconceptions in acid-base chemistry, the study selected an effective teaching strategy using Needham five phases. It has also gone ahead to develop teaching and learning interactive courseware that will facilitate instructional delivery and overcome those areas of misconceptions in acid-base chemistry. A survey was developed and administered to in-service chemistry teachers of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and the Sokoto State University of Nigeria. The result obtained indicated that interactive courseware can be concise and effective in overcoming misconception in learning chemistry. Lucia High School, Division of Pasig City. Descriptive method and one-group experimental method of research were used in the study. The researcher used 52 Grade 10 students. The least mastered topics in Chemistry were Gas Laws. The experts and the teachers' respondents evaluated the developed IMM as "Satisfactory" with respect to Format, Content, Appropriateness and Updatedness. On the other hand, in terms of Presentation and Organization, the experts evaluated it as "Very Satisfactory" while the science teachers as "Satisfactory". In terms of its Technical Aspect, both groups of the respondents evaluated the IMM as "Very Satisfactory". Likewise, there was no significant difference between the perceptions of the experts and the science teachers on the developed material. Moreover, the level of performance of the learner respondents in the pretest was "Satisfactory", "Moderately Satisfactory" and "Needs Improvement". On the other hand, the level of performance of the learners in the Posttest was "Very Satisfactory" and "Satisfactory" for the topics in Gas Law and there was a significant difference in the mean scores of the pretest and posttest of the learners. The chapter applies situative theory to examine the practices of chemists and to derive implications for the use of various kinds of representations in chemistry education. The two theories have implications for different but complementary educational goals—cognitive theory focusing on the learning of scientific concepts and situative theory on learning science as an investigative process. We go on to present and contrast several examples of multimedia in chemistry that address each goal.
