Explora la evolución histórica de esas teorías del liderazgo desde los estudios de James V. Downton (1973) hasta nuestros días. El trabajo se realizó en dos fases: una documental mediante la identificación de las variables que según la teoría de liderazgo transformacional caracterizan a estos líderes, extraídas de los estudios de caso desarrollados por Quintero (2013); y una fase de investigación de campo en la cual se solicitó a tres líderes de las empresas estudiadas, responder el cuestionario Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) form 6S, modificado por Northouse (2001). Se utilizó una adaptación del instrumento MLQ 5X (Bass y Avolio, 1985). Los resultados sugieren que el principal estilo de liderazgo utilizado es el transformacional, específicamente las dimensiones motivación por inspiración, influencia idealizada por conductas y consideraciones individuales. Los hombres son más propensos que las mujeres a emplear el estilo de liderazgo transaccional, específicamente la gerencia por excepción pasiva. También se encuentra que la baja y media gerencia utilizan principalmente el premio por contingencia más que otros niveles gerenciales. Este trabajo parte de la hipótesis de que un liderazgo innovador contribuye, junto con otros componentes (que aquí no se estudian) a excelentes resultados de desempeño en las organizaciones. El objetivo de este trabajo es señalar las pautas que debe reunir un líder innovador y cómo debería aplicarse un estilo particular a cierto contexto, respondiendo a la pregunta: ¿Qué se necesita para ser un líder innovador y cómo nos podemos transformar serlo en distintas situaciones y personal de la empresa? Primero exploramos el dilema organizacional y los rasgos de los malos jefes, pasamos a revisar los principales rasgos del liderazgo innovador y sus características y habilidades de pensamiento. Posteriormente, pasamos al corazón de este trabajo: se trata de una propuesta de esquema de cambio transformador, en siete pasos, partiendo desde el conocimiento de la organización, hasta el la constitución de equipos innovadores y la retroalimentación. Dentro de dicho esquema que se propone, se revisan algunas herramientas sugeridas (sin profundizar demasiado en ello. Finalmente se presenta la conclusión del aprendizaje y reflexiones para posteriores líneas de discusión. Para concluir, veremos que el liderazgo no es una piedra filosofal ni un medicamento que se recete y se beba, es un cambio gradual del ser, hacia un propósito. Este trabajo no pretende ser la última palabra en liderazgo, concepto que cambia de acuerdo al contexto organizacional y a la cultura social y empresarial; espera, eso sí, ser un punto de partida, una guía para abrir el panorama del perfil del líder transformador; concepto del que, a mi juicio, muchas veces se ha abusado tanto por capacitadores como por especialistas en desarrollo humano, en la búsqueda constante por vender conceptos novedosos a un mercado empresarial cada vez más proclive al buscar respuestas rápidas a problemas urgentes. Individuo y Sociedad, 2016</p><p class="ds-related-work--abstract ds2-5-body-sm">Esta investigación exploratoria-descriptiva-comparativa tuvo como finalidad caracterizar el liderazgo transaccional y transformacional en voluntarios de la ciudad de Mar del Plata y, específicamente, comparar el liderazgo en voluntarios jóvenes y adultos. Para ello se administró el Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ-5x). La muestra de esta investigación fue intencional, no probabilística, compuesta por voluntarios jóvenes y adultos de organizaciones asociativas de la ciudad de Mar del Plata. Se hipotetizó que en el grupo de voluntarios jóvenes el liderazgo sería más transformacional que en grupo de voluntarios adultos y que éste último sería más transaccional. Se calculó descriptivos básicos y se aplicó pruebas no paramétricas para identificar diferencias por grupos. Los resultados indican que sólo habría diferencias críticas entre los voluntarios menores de 30 años y los voluntarios de 60 años o más, en la dimensión transaccional Dirección por Excepción Pasiva.
