This year from June 22 to 24, 2013, during the 13th International Wolfsberg Meeting on Molecular Radiation Biology/Oncology organized in association with ESTRO, almost 170 basic and clinical scientists from 19 different countries worldwide discussed the cutting edge research relevant to the four topics signaling cascades and survival mechanism, DNA damage response, biomarkers and targeting strategies, as well as tumor and normal tissue microenvironment. As keynote speakers internationally leading scientists introduced the various topics by giving overview lectures with respect to basic research as well as translational and clinical aspects. These keynote presentations set the stage for intensive discussions of the posters and proffered paper presentations.
