The award recognizes hospitals that deliver high-quality, life-saving stroke care. The Joint Commission also certified our four Scripps emergency rooms as Primary Stroke Centers. This means our hospitals have the critical elements in place to achieve long-term success after stroke.</p><p><br></p><p>Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla ranked among the top 50 <a href="/services/heart-care" data-document-title="false" draggable="false">cardiovascular hospitals</a> by Fortune magazine and Premier’s PINC AI, a health care improvement and technology company. Those in the top 50 operated at lower cost and had better outcomes, had significantly higher inpatient survival rates, fewer patients with complications, lower readmission rates and spent up to $5,076 less in total costs per patient case.
