If your brother sins, rebuke him; and, if he repents, forgive him.<Fr> <A name="5"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span><FR>And, if he sins against you seven times in the day, and seven times turns to you, saying, 'I repent,' you shall forgive him."<Fr><p> <A name="6"></a><p class="hdg">The Power of Faith<br /><span class="cross">(<a href ="../matthew/17.htm#19">Matthew 17:19–20</a>)</span><p><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>And the apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith." <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>And the Lord said, <FR>"If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye would say to this sycamine tree, 'Be rooted up, and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.<Fr><p> <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span><FR>But who is there of you, having a servant plowing, or tending sheep, that will say to him, having come in from the field, 'Coming straightway, recline <i>at table</i>;'<Fr> <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span><FR>and will not rather say to him, 'Make ready wherewith I may sup; and, having girded yourself, serve me, until I eat and drink; and afterward you shall eat and drink?'<Fr> <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span><FR>Does he thank the servant, because he did the things that were commanded?<Fr> <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span><FR>So also ye, when ye do all the things that were commanded you, say, 'We are unprofitable servants; we have done what it was our duty to do.'<Fr><p> <A name="12"></a><p class="hdg">The Ten Lepers<p><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>And it came to pass, when He was journeying to Jerusalem, that He was passing through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>And, as He was entering into a certain village, there met Him ten leprous men, who stood afar off; <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>and they lifted up their voice, saying, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!" <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>And, when He saw them, He said to them, <FR>"Going <i>your way</i>, show yourselves to the priests."<Fr> And it came to pass that, as they went, they were cleansed. <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>And one of them, seeing that he was cleansed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice, <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>and fell on his face at His feet, giving thanks to Him; and he was a Samaritan. <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>And Jesus, answering, said, <FR>"Were not the ten cleansed? Where are the nine?<Fr> <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span><FR>Were none found, returning to give glory to God, except this stranger?"<Fr> <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>And He said to him, <FR>"Arising, go on your way; your faith has made you whole."<Fr><p> <A name="21"></a><p class="hdg">The Coming of the Kingdom<p><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>And being asked by the Pharisees, when the Kingdom of God is coming, He answered them, and said, <FR>"The Kingdom of God comes not with observation;<Fr> <A name="22"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span><FR>nor will they say, 'Lo, here!' or, 'Lo, there!' for, behold, the Kingdom of God is within you."<Fr><p> <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>And He said to the disciples, <FR>"There will come days, when ye will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and ye will not see it.<Fr> <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span><FR>And they will say to you, 'Lo, there!' or "Lo, here!' go not away, nor follow after <i>them</i>.<Fr> <A name="25"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span><FR>For, as the lightning, flashing out of one <i>part</i> under heaven, shines to the other <i>part</i> under heaven; so shall be the Son of Man.<Fr> <A name="26"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span><FR>But first He must suffer many things, and be rejected by this generation.<Fr> <A name="27"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-26.htm"><b>26</b></a></span><FR>"And, as it happened in the days of Noah, so will it be also in the days of the Son of Man:<Fr> <A name="28"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-27.htm"><b>27</b></a></span><FR>they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were given in marriage, until the day on which Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed <i>them</i> all.<Fr> <A name="29"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-28.htm"><b>28</b></a></span><FR>Likewise, also, as it happened in the days of Lot; they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building;<Fr> <A name="30"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-29.htm"><b>29</b></a></span><FR>but on the day on which Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed <i>them</i> all:<Fr> <A name="31"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-30.htm"><b>30</b></a></span><FR>after the same manner shall it be in the day the Son of Man is revealed.<Fr> <A name="32"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-31.htm"><b>31</b></a></span><FR>"In that day let him who shall be on the housetop and his goods in the house not come down to take them away: and let him who is in the field likewise not return back.<Fr> <A name="33"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-32.htm"><b>32</b></a></span><FR>Remember Lot's wife.<Fr> <A name="34"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-33.htm"><b>33</b></a></span><FR>Whosoever shall seek to gain his soul shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose it, will preserve <i>it</i>.<Fr> <A name="35"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-34.htm"><b>34</b></a></span><FR>I say to you, in that night there will be two <i>men</i> on one bed;
