it shall be to you for all months of the year. <A name="4"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-3.htm#aramaic"><b>3</b></a></span>Say to all the assembly of the children of Israel in the tenth of this month, they shall take to them, each man, a lamb for the house and a lamb for the house of his father <A name="5"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-4.htm#aramaic"><b>4</b></a></span>And if the household is too small to bring out a lamb for it, he and his neighbor that is near to his house will take by the number of souls, each man according to his eating, you will count for a lamb. <A name="6"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-5.htm#aramaic"><b>5</b></a></span>A lamb that does not have a defect in it, it shall be yours, a male lamb a year old; you will take it from the lambs or from the goats: <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>And it will be kept with you until the fourteenth in this month and all the people of the assembly of the children of Israel will kill it at the setting of the sun. <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>And they will take from its blood and they will cast upon both door posts and upon the mantle and upon the houses where they will eat it among them. <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>And they will eat the flesh in this night when roasted in fire; they shall eat it and unleavened bread with bitter herbs. <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>You will not eat from it when living raw, also not by boiling in water, but roasted in fire, and its head, its legs and its insides. <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>And you shall not leave of it for the morning and anything that remains of it to the morning you shall burn in the fire. <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>And thus you will eat when your waists are tied and your shoes on your feet and your staves in your hands; eat it hastily because it is the Passover to LORD JEHOVAH. <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>And I shall pass through in the land of Egypt in this night and all the firstborn of the land of Egypt will die, from the sons of men and unto beast, and among all the worshiped creatures of the Egyptians I shall do judgment. I AM LORD JEHOVAH. <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>And this blood will be for a sign to you on the houses in which you are and I shall see the blood and I shall pass over you, and death will not be among you to destroy whenever I kill in the land of Egypt.<p> <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>And this day will be for a remembrance to you, and make it a feast to LORD JEHOVAH, a feast to your generations; be doing it as a law for eternity. <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, and from the first day you shall remove the leaven from your houses, because everyone that will eat leavened bread from your houses, that soul will be lost from Israel, from the first day and unto the seventh day. <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>And the first day is called and holy, and the seventh day shall be called and holy to you, and no work shall be done in them, except whatever a son of man eats, only that will be done by you. <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>You shall keep the unleavened bread because in this day I have brought out your hosts from the land of Egypt and you shall keep this day for your generations, a law to eternity. <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>In the first month, in the fourteenth of the month in the evening you will eat unleavened bread and unto the twentyfirst day of the month in the evening. <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>For seven days leaven shall not be found in your houses, because everyone that will eat leaven, that soul will be lost from the assembly of Israel, of natives and of settlers of the land. <A name="21"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-20.htm#aramaic"><b>20</b></a></span>You shall eat no leaven; in every place of your dwelling you shall eat unleavened bread.<p> <A name="22"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-21.htm#aramaic"><b>21</b></a></span>And Moshe called all the Elders of the children of Israel and he said to them, &#8220;Quickly take to yourselves lambs for your generations and kill the Passover. <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-22.htm#aramaic"><b>22</b></a></span>And take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood of a lamb and sprinkle on the lintels and upon both door posts from the blood that is in the vessel, and none of you shall go out from the door of his house until the morning.<p> <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH shall go through to strike the Egyptians and he shall see the blood that is upon the lintels and upon both door posts and LORD JEHOVAH shall pass over the door and shall not allow the Destroyer to enter your houses and destroy. <A name="25"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-24.htm#aramaic"><b>24</b></a></span>And you shall keep this statement and this Law for yourselves and for your children until eternity. <A name="26"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-25.htm#aramaic"><b>25</b></a></span>And whenever you have entered the land that LORD JEHOVAH shall give to you, as he said, you will keep this service. <A name="27"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-26.htm#aramaic"><b>26</b></a></span>And it will be when your children will say to you, &#8216;What is this service?&#8217; <A name="28"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-27.htm#aramaic"><b>27</b></a></span>You will say to them: &#8216;It is the sacrifice of the Passover of LORD JEHOVAH who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt when he struck the Egyptians, and he delivered our households.&#8217; And the people knelt and worshipped LORD JEHOVAH.<p> <A name="29"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-28.htm#aramaic"><b>28</b></a></span>And they went and the children of Israel did as LORD JEHOVAH commanded Moshe and Aaron, so they did.<p> <A name="30"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-29.htm#aramaic"><b>29</b></a></span>And it was in the middle of the night and LORD JEHOVAH killed all of the firstborn of the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne and unto the firstborn of the captive that is in the house of prisoners and all the firstborn of oxen. <A name="31"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-30.htm#aramaic"><b>30</b></a></span>And Pharaoh stood in that night and all his Servants and all Egyptians and there was great wailing in the land of Egypt, for there was not a house that did not have one dead in it.<p> <A name="32"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-31.htm#aramaic"><b>31</b></a></span>And Pharaoh called Moshe and Ahron in that night and he said to them, &#8220;Arise, go out from within my people, even you and also the children of Israel, and go serve before LORD JEHOVAH just as you have said. <A name="33"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-32.htm#aramaic"><b>32</b></a></span>Also your flocks also your cattle take as you have said, and go and bless me also.&#8221;<p> <A name="34"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-33.htm#aramaic"><b>33</b></a></span>And the Egyptians urged the people hastily that they would get them out from the land, because they said, &#8220;We all are dying!&#8221; <A name="35"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-34.htm#aramaic"><b>34</b></a></span>And the people took their bread dough when it had not fermented, their cold dough tied up in their towels and laid over their shoulders.<p> <A name="36"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-35.htm#aramaic"><b>35</b></a></span>And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moshe and they requested from the Egyptians articles of silver and articles of gold and garments: <A name="37"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-36.htm#aramaic"><b>36</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH gave favor to the people in the eyes of the Egyptians and they requested of them and they robbed the Egyptians.<p> <A name="38"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-37.htm#aramaic"><b>37</b></a></span>And the children of Israel picked up from Raamsis to Sekoth, six hundred thousand men on foot, apart from the families. <A name="39"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-38.htm#aramaic"><b>38</b></a></span>Also many mixed companies went up with them and very many flocks and oxen and cattle. <A name="40"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-39.htm#aramaic"><b>39</b></a></span>And they baked the dough that the Egyptians had brought them, flat unleavened cake, because it had not fermented, because the Egyptians brought them out and they could not be rolled upland also they had made no provisions for them.<p> <A name="41"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-40.htm#aramaic"><b>40</b></a></span>And their dwelling where the children of Israel had dwelt in Egypt was four hundred and thirty years. <A name="42"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-41.htm#aramaic"><b>41</b></a></span>And it was after four hundred and thirty years, on this day, all the armies of LORD JEHOVAH went out from the land of Egypt.<p> <A name="43"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-42.htm#aramaic"><b>42</b></a></span>The night is kept to LORD JEHOVAH for their exodus from the land of Egypt; this night is kept to LORD JEHOVAH; it is for all the children of Israel for their generations.<p> <A name="44"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-43.htm#aramaic"><b>43</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH said to Moshe and Ahron: &#8220;This is the law of Passover: &#8216;No son of a foreigner will eat of it: <A name="45"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-44.htm#aramaic"><b>44</b></a></span>And every Servant of a man bought with money when you have circumcised him, then he will eat from it. <A name="46"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-45.htm#aramaic"><b>45</b></a></span>A settler and a hired man will not eat of it. <A name="47"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-46.htm#aramaic"><b>46</b></a></span>In one house it will be eaten and you shall not remove of its flesh outside of the house and the bones in it you shall not break. <A name="48"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-47.htm#aramaic"><b>47</b></a></span>All the assembly of Israel will perform it. <A name="49"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-48.htm#aramaic"><b>48</b></a></span>And when a settler will dwell with you and he will perform Passover to LORD JEHOVAH, whenever he circumcises any male, then he may come near to do it and he will be as a native of the land and no uncircumcised male will eat from it. <A name="50"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-49.htm#aramaic"><b>49</b></a></span>The law shall be one for the natives and for the settlers who dwell among you.&#8221;<p> <A name="51"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/exodus/12-50.htm#aramaic"><b>50</b></a></span>And all the children of Israel did as LORD JEHOVAH commanded Moshe and Ahron;
