As the historical contexts of Georgian and Austrian literature of the twentieth century reveal some similarities, such as the annexation, the Anschluss, a small country with a glorious past, a small county with a large neighbour etc., these similarities outlined the object of this study. The comparative analysis of poetic texts by Georgian and Austrian female authors revealing on the one hand, contemporary and historical peculiarities of feminine narrative, and on the other hand, contrasts in cultural contexts, allow us to demonstrate and establish their national, individual and historical characteristics. The paper seeks to explore the nature and essence of these changes and provides an in-depth discussion of their causes based on the analysis of literary sources from the Soviet Socialist Republic of Georgia. The paper demonstrates that three main causes triggered women’s changing roles during the Great Patriotic War in the Soviet Union: the State’s desire to increase the public’s participationor engagement in the War, the use of women’s resources for war-related objectives, and strengthening the fighting spirit of the nation. With these objectives in mind, Soviet propaganda tried to create new models of women.Literature, namely poetry and short stories,wereseen as important sources for delivering these changes to the wider public. The major finding of the paper is that while Soviet propaganda tried to link these changes with the emancipation of women in the Soviet Union, the real causes and objectives of these policies werethe state’s desire to instrumentalize all segments of its society for fulfilling war-related objectives. In order to achieve this goal, women had to pass a long, difficult but interesting road. On the one hand, they tried to get their place in society and on the other, struggled to change the cultural norms. During many centuries women's place and action sphere were stricly determined. Women were looked at as human beings having reproductive function, whose main business was upbringing children and looking after the family. The reasons for becaming interested in the topic discussed are two. First of all, there were too many discussions on women's issues in the 90s of the 20th century, the majority of which led to the shadows of the past: all recalled St. Nino, Queen Tamar (called «Tamar Mefe» – King Tamar) and Aphorism «Lekvi lomisa stsoria dzu ikos tunda khvadia» = The daughter and the son of the king have equal rights for the throne. Our aim is to answer the following questions: why do we still remember the past that can not make any influence on society? And where were women in the nearest past? Our interest was caused by Simone de Beauvoir's work "Second Sex" (published in 1949), which answers the question "What is woman? The author describes women's subor-dination to the species in terms of reproduction, compares the physiology of men and women , concluding that values cannot be based on physiology and that the facts of biology must be viewed in light of the ontological, economic, social, and physiological context. The problem of the study is the literary-sociological and linguistic generalizations of female characters' vocabulary in Srbuhi Tyusab's novel "Araksia or the Governess" and Sipil's "A Girl's Heart" from the perspectives of comparative analysis of linguistic features, vocabulary and semantic commonalities of the texts. A comparative analysis of female characters in the novels "Araksia or the Governess" (1887) by Tyusab and "A Girl's Heart" (1891) by Sipil, has been attempted from the perspectives of literary and sociological studies. The actuality of the study lies in its interdisciplinarity, according to which the material was analyzed in the context of mutual connections between literary studies, linguistics, social and computer sciences with the application of the methods of literary and linguistic comparison, sociological statistics, as well as the graph-based semantic representation method. This kind of study has been attempted for the first time. A stereotype is a cultural phenomenon, that can be found in any society in the form of centuries-old experience of a given society, transmitted from generation to generation by images transformed in accordance with the era and the level of society development. The culture and literature of any nation contain a rich gallery of stereotypes. The existence of a stereotype without culture is inconceivable. And culture itself is a certain set of stereotypes that defines and, therefore, limits human actions. One of the priority areas of modern anthropocentric and human sciences is the study of the formation and functioning of gender stereotypes, the identification and analysis of their intercultural specificity. Contrary to the objectives of the aforementioned study, our multilateral research is devoted to the study of the phenomenon of a woman, as representations of the stereotypical image of national-cultural identity in different literary eras. The present article deals with the study of the stereotypical image of a woman in medieval Western and Georgian literature. A multilayered analysis that tackles the implications of the gender shi between the real and the fi ctitious authors, the genre of the works, their peculiar language use as well as the historical dimensions of conjuring up women authors, leads me to conclude that Psyché and Tizenhét ha yúk may qualify as feminist textual practice. What is the cause for such a phenomenon? Is there a feminine literature, or is it rather an invention of the feminists? If there is, is it a literature of the periphery? Is the alleged marginality a sociological problem or one of history of mentalities? Can we define it without making reference to the " masculine " literature? Here are some questions which prove the fact that the problem is a complex one that can hardly be put into strict conceptual frameworks. There are partisans of feminine literature, but there are also skeptics. We are going to try to define the concept reviewing different opinions that have been expressed starting with the beginning of the 20 th century, when the first women writers made their presence known, until the present days, when the phenomenon of feminine literature became a very well-known one in the literary field. Abandoning the dichotomy masculine-feminine or even the lack of differentiation, ideas that were manifested in the writing field too, become a symptom of modernity.
