What therefore God jointly paired together (yoked together), do not let man separate (divide, vacate). <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/19-7.htm#literal"><b>7</b></a></span>They say to Him, Why then did Moses command to give a letter of divorce (forsaking, repudiation) and send her away (release, let go, divorce her)? <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/19-8.htm#literal"><b>8</b></a></span>He says to them, Moses, in view of your hardheartedness (hard because dry), allowed you to divorce your wives; however it was not this way from the beginning. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/19-9.htm#literal"><b>9</b></a></span>And I say to you, that whoever shall divorce his wife except based upon fornication (sexual immorality, promiscuity of any type, surrendering/selling off of sexual purity) and shall marry another commits adultery {; and he who marries her that is divorced commits adultery. – not in vulgate, ESV, NASB}.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/19-10.htm#literal"><b>10</b></a></span>His disciples say to Him, If this is the case of the man with the wife, it is better not to marry. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/19-11.htm#literal"><b>11</b></a></span>And He said to them, Not all make room for this word, but those to whom it has been given. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/19-12.htm#literal"><b>12</b></a></span>For there are eunuchs who from out of the womb of their mother were born thus, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men and there are eunuchs who made eunuchs of themselves for the sake of the kingdom of the heavens. The one being able to make room for it, let him make room for it.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/19-13.htm#literal"><b>13</b></a></span>Then little children were brought to Him so that he might lay His hands upon them and might pray. And the disciples censured them [who brought]. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/19-14.htm#literal"><b>14</b></a></span>And Jesus said, Let (permit) the little children and do not hinder them to come to Me; for of such kind is the kingdom of the heavens. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/19-15.htm#literal"><b>15</b></a></span>And having laid His hands upon them, He departed from there.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/19-16.htm#literal"><b>16</b></a></span>And behold, one having come to Him, said, Teacher, what good [thing] shall I do so that I might have life eternal? <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/19-17.htm#literal"><b>17</b></a></span>And He said to him, Why do you ask Me concerning what is good? One is good. And if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/19-18.htm#literal"><b>18</b></a></span>He says to Him, Which? And Jesus said, You will not murder; you will not commit adultery; you will not steal; you will not falsely testify; <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/19-19.htm#literal"><b>19</b></a></span>Honor (value) your father and your mother; and You will love your neighbor (nearby) like as yourself. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/matthew/19-20.htm#literal"><b>20</b></a></span>The young man says to Him, All these things I have kept.
