The aim of the study is to examine leisure boredom of high school students based on some variables (gender and income), and to investigate the relationship between leisure boredom, the presence/absence of anti-social behavior and the frequency at which high school students participate in recreational activities. This study utilized survey research methods and consisted of a convenience sample of 497 students who enrolled in state high schools in Ordu City-Altinordu township, Turkey. Their ages range from 15 to 18 years. The students completed the Leisure Boredom Scale (LBS) and demographic information form. In the result, it was found that there was no significant difference between (p>0.05) leisure boredom subscales and gender. However, a significant difference (p<0.05) was seen between gender and exhibiting anti-social behavior. There was also a significant difference between the perfection subscale of LBS and income. In the study, correlational survey research model was used and smartphone addiction and leisure satisfaction of university students were examined with a comparative approach. The population of this study consists of 855 university students studying at two large universities. Smartphone Addiction and Leisure Satisfaction Scales were used to collect research data. Research findings show that leisure satisfaction and smartphone addiction among university students are high. Another finding of the research is that students who participate in active sports, social, artistic and cultural activities have low smartphone addiction. In the study, the students doing sports with license accepted as 'students doing sports'. 367 female and 315 male (682 in total) students receiving education at 9th, 10th, 11th grades of Anatolian High Schools in central districts of Mersin province participated in this research voluntarily. For this purpose, 'Internet Usage Habits Scale' and 'the self info form of the internet usage and the case of students doing sports or not' prepared by researchers were applied. The data was analyzed by the SPSS program. T test, one-way analysis of variance (anova) and descriptive statistical methods were used in analysis. The increasing use and the importance of the internet among teens, has gradually lead those who deal with the health in professional level, to address the serious health effects possibly related to this activity. The aim of the study was to examine the relationship between the use of the internet and the relation with exercise, physical activity and academic performance. In was investigated, through questionnaires, the profile of adolescents who use the computer and the internet connection as well as their correlation with social demographic characteristics (gender, age), sports activities and school performance. The survey involved 171 students (79 boys and 92 girls) high school students aged 14-16 years. The selection of the sample students was randomly sampled among high school students. For data processing it was used the principal components of factor analysis and ANOVA analysis of variance. Regarding to gender results showed that there were no statistically significant differences between boys and girls on the frequency of the negative thoughts because of the internet connection absence. Regarding the age there were statistically significant differences with the frequency of the satisfaction feelings because of the online connection, (F2,165 = 10,20, p = 0.00), frequency of the negative thoughts because of the internet connection absence, (F2,165 = 10,68, p = 0,00), frequency of abnormal reactions because of the online connection, (F2,165 = 27, 30, p = 0,00), frequency of decreased performance in courses because of online connection and (F2,168 = 18,79, p = 0,00). Also, there were statistically significant differences between the students who exercised with the frequency of decreased performance in courses because of online connection (F(1,169) = 4,3, p = 0,40), with those students who have practiced more have better performance at the grade in their lessons. The second purpose was to investigate the differences based on demographic variables (gender, marital status, working sector) regarding leisure boredom. In total 312 employees from public and private sectors (167 female, 145 male) residing in Ankara participated in this study. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) were conducted to test the structural validity of the scale. EFA demonstrated that this scale yielded two subscales in the Turkish version. The first factor was named "boredom" and the second factor was named "satisfaction" by the participating researchers after reviewing the related literature and examining the factor structure of the scale. The scale consists of 10 items; the item factor loadings for the overall scale range between 0.38 and 0.83; and the Cronbach Alpha coefficient for the subscales was determined 0.72 for boredom and 0.77 for satisfaction in the final form of the scale. According to t-test results regarding the demographic variables, there was statistically significant difference in gender only in the ‚satisfaction‛ subscale, and between women and men participants, with men participants having higher mean scores (p<.01). There was no significant difference in terms of marital status in total LBS and the subscales. Concerning the working sectors of the participants, the analysis showed significant differences in total LBS and the ‚boredom‛ subscale between public and private sector's participants, with public sector's participants having higher mean scores than the latter (p<.01). In conclusion, the results of the research demonstrated that the Turkish adaptation of ‚The Leisure Boredom Scale‛ can be used as a valid and reliable measurement tool to examine and evaluate the leisure boredom levels of Turkish adults. The study was conducted with 135 high school students, 68 females and 67 males. For the data collection tool in the study, Young's Internet Addiction Test-Short Form, Oxford Happiness Questionnaire-Short Form and the personal information form prepared by the researcher were adopted. The data analyses were conducted using the Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient and Simple Linear Regression analyses. As a result of the analyses, statistically significant and negative relationships were found between the internet addiction and the happiness levels of students of sports high school. As a result of the regression analysis, it was revealed that the internet addiction of the students of sports high school significantly predicted happiness in a negative way. According to the results of the study, it could be stated that internet addiction could affect happiness negatively. It is believed that the results obtained are of significance in terms of detecting the effects of internet use on adolescents who study in sports high school and in offering an insight for future studies.
