Ting aims to increase the number of households in our Ting towns who can afford Ting’s fiber internet services, starting with our Memphis market. Unlike our competitors, Ting will always offer our highest-speed tier to customers regardless of their income level.</p><div class="w-embed"><div class="w-layout-vflex flex-block-3 warning-note"><h1 class="warning-box-heading">Attention</h1><p>The Ting Affordability Program (TAP) is currently only available to our customers in Memphis, Tennessee. If you are not located in Memphis, Tennessee, the following may not apply.</p></div></div></div><h1 class="article-header">How much is the TAP discount?</h1><div class="article-rich-text w-richtext"><p>A $49 discount is applied to all TAP-eligible customers, regardless of whether you would like to rent a router. So you will enjoy our fastest speeds (2Gbps Plan) at just $40 / month.</p></div></div><h1 id="TOC-Item-2" class="article-header">Will I receive a router as a TAP customer?</h1><div class="article-rich-text w-richtext"><p>One eero router is available (at no cost to you) through the discount program if you would like to use it, you are also welcome to <a href="/internet-articles/byor-to-your-ting-internet-service">bring your own router</a>.</p><p>A free eero rental will be available during installation -- do not select a Whole Home Wi-Fi option during the order flow unless you wish to have more than one eero to cover your home. </p><p>If you wish to add an additional eero beyond the free eero to your order, the associated rental cost is $11/month.</p></div><h1 id="TOC-Item-3" class="article-header">Is TV included in the TAP Program?</h1><div class="article-rich-text w-richtext"><p>No. No channel or television products are included in this discount program.</p></div><h1 id="TOC-Item-4" class="article-header">How do I apply for the Ting Affordability Program?</h1><div class="article-rich-text w-richtext"><p>If you are a Memphis resident, you can apply to be part of TAP by going to ting.com/Memphis and completing the SheerID validation process.</p></div><h1 id="TOC-Item-5" class="article-header">What is SheerID?</h1><div class="article-rich-text w-richtext"><p>Ting uses the SheerID digital verification system to validate you are eligible for our in-house discount program called TAP. The SheerID verification system connects with authoritative data sources to confirm your eligibility.</p><p>For more information about the SheerID verification process, see the <a href="/internet-articles/understanding-sheerid">Understanding the SheerID Process</a> help article.</p></div><h1 id="TOC-Item-6" class="article-header">Will entering my information in SheerID for verification affect my credit score?</h1><div class="article-rich-text w-richtext"><p>No, the verification process is NOT a credit check. SheerID only is used to check your eligibility for the discount program.</p></div><h1 id="TOC-Item-7" class="article-header">How long does it take to get verified using SheerID?</h1><div class="article-rich-text w-richtext"><p>Most often, validation is immediate! If you are asked to upload documentation, the documentation review can take up to 20 minutes.</p></div><h1 id="TOC-Item-8" class="article-header">What happens once I've been verified?</h1><div class="article-rich-text w-richtext"><p>SheerID provides you with a unique code you can use to sign up for Ting Internet services. Simply apply the code in the promo code field during the checkout process to receive your TAP discount.
