Mead is a Fellow at the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) and an adjunct professor at Carnegie Mellon University, focusing on security requirements engineering and software assurance curricula. She previously served as SEI’s director of education (1991–1994). With over 150 publications, her research interests span software security and requirements engineering. Before SEI, Mead was a senior technical staff member at IBM Federal Systems, working on large real-time systems and managing IBM’s software engineering education. She has developed and taught software engineering courses for both academic and professional audiences. Mead serves on editorial boards for the International Journal of Systems and Software Security and Protection and the Requirements Engineering Journal, and holds memberships on the IEEE TCSE Executive Committee and the Open University Advisory Board. A Fellow of IEEE and the IEEE Computer Society, and a Distinguished Educator of the ACM, she has received the IEEE Distinguished Education Award (2015) and was named a Parnas Fellow at Lero in 2019.</p> <p align="center"><img src="images/KN/Magdy Bayoumy.png" width="163" height="200" alt=""/></p> <h4 align="center"><strong>Dr. Magdy Bayoumi</strong>, IEEE Fellow<strong><br> </strong>Professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering</h4> <h5 align="center"> <strong>The University of Louisiana at Lafayette, USA</strong></h5> <p align="justify"> <strong>Keynote: Chip 4.0: Chips for Chat GPT Evolution</strong></p> <p align="justify"><strong>Bio</strong>: Magdy A. Bayoumi is the Department Head of W. H. Hall Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering. He is the Hall Endowed Chair in Computer Engineering. He was the Director of the Center for Advanced Computer Studies (CACS) and the Department Head of Computer Science Department. He was. Also, the Loflin Eminent Scholar Endowed Chair in Computer Science, all at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he has been a faculty member since 1985. He received B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Cairo University, Egypt; M.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering from Washington University, St. Louis; and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Windsor, Canada.<br> Dr. Bayoumi has graduated many PHD and MSC students, they have been employed allover the world. Intel has hired around 100 of his students. He authored/co-authored many research papers and more than 10 books. He was the guest/co-guest editor of more than 10 special journal issues, the latest was on Machine to Machine Interface. He was associate Editor of many IEEE transactions, Springer, and Elsevier journals.<br> Bayoumi is an IEEE Fellow. He has served in many capacities in the IEEE Computer, Signal Processing, and Circuits & Systems (CAS) societies, the most recent are: the vice president of Technical Activities of IEEE RFID council and he was on the IEEE RFID Distinguished Lecture Program (DLP). He is a member of IEEE IoT Activity Board and he is on the steering committee of IEEE IoT journal. Bayoumi has received many awards, among them; the IEEE CAS Education award and the IEEE CAS Distinguished Service award. He was on the IEEE DLP programs for CAS and Computer societies. He was on the IEEE Fellow Selection Committee. Bayoumi has been an ABET evaluator and he was an ABET commissioner and team chair. He has given numerous keynote/invited lectures and talks nationally and internationally. Bayoumi was the general chair of more than 25 conferences (including ISCAS 2007 and ICIP 2009), the latest are: IEEE ICECS 2021, IEEE WFIoT 2021, IEEE WFIoT 2020, and IEEE ICASSP 2017 in New Orleans.<br> Bayoumi was the chair of an international delegation to China, sponsored by People-to-People Ambassador, 2000. He received the French Government Fellowship, University of Paris Orsay, 2003-2005 and 2009. He was a Visiting Professor at King Saud University. He was a United Nation visiting scholar. He has been an advisor to many EE/CMPS departments in several countries.<br> Bayoumi was on the State of Louisiana Comprehensive Energy Policy Committee (confirmed by Louisiana Senate). He was the vice president of Acadiana Technology Council. He was on LEDA round table group. He was on the Chamber of Commerce Tourism and Education committees. He was a member of several delegations representing Lafayette to international cities, e.g. Quebic City-Canada; Vasa-Finland; Paris, Potier, and La Rochelle-France He is on the Le Centre International Board. He was the general chair of SEASME (an organization of French Speaking cities) conference in Lafayette. He is a member of Lafayette Leadership Institute, he was a founding member of its executive committee. He was a column editor for Lafayette Newspaper; the Daily Advertiser. Rawat is the Associate Dean for Research & Graduate Studies and a Full Professor in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at Howard University. He is the Founding Director of the Howard University Data Science & Cybersecurity Center, the DoD Center of Excellence in AI & ML (CoE-AIML), the Trustworthy AI (TruAI) Lab, and the Cybersecurity and Wireless Networking (CWiNs) Lab. Dr. Rawat led the establishment of the DoD’s Research Institute for Tactical Autonomy (RITA) as its Founding Executive Director. His research spans cybersecurity, machine learning, big data analytics, and wireless networking for systems such as IoT, smart cities, and cyber-physical systems. Dr. Rawat has secured over $128 million in research funding from agencies including NSF, DHS, NSA, DoE, NIH, DoD, and from private foundations and industry partners such as Microsoft, Intel, and Raytheon. He has received numerous awards, including the NSF CAREER Award, DHS Scientific Leadership Award, Howard University’s Presidents’ Medal of Achievement, and multiple best paper awards. With over 300 publications and 11 books, Dr. Rawat has supervised 33 PhD graduates, including 27 from underrepresented groups, and continues to mentor students and postdocs. An Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions and an organizer for IEEE conferences, Dr. Rawat is a Senior Member of IEEE, ACM, AAAI, SPIE, ASEE, AAAS, and a Fellow of IET. His current research interests lie in the area of communication networks in general. Specifically, he is interested in Wireless Networks, Internet of Things (IoT), Network Security, and Machine Learning. He has published a series of papers in top publication venues such as IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking (TON), IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems (TPDS), IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications (TWC), IEEE International Conference on Computer Communications (INFOCOM), and ACM International Symposium on Mobile Ad Hoc Networking and Computing (MobiHoc). He has been the co-symposium chair for several tier-1 international conferences such as IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM ). He received a Ph.D. in Computing Science from the University of Alberta in 2007. His M. Engr. and B. Engr. in Computer Science and Technology are from Harbin Institute of Technology, P.R. China. He is an adjunct professor at Queen's University and previously held positions at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and Carnegie Mellon University. Recognized for his research achievements, he has received awards from UL Lafayette and Queen’s, alongside numerous best paper awards. Dr. Elgazzar is a leading authority in the areas of Internet of Things (IoT), intelligent software systems, real-time data analytics, and mobile computing.
