She led the Detector Department at SLAC's Linac Coherent Light Source before returning to Brookhaven in 2018. </p><h3><a name='Highlights'></a>Research Highlights</h3> <p>Recognition of Gabriella's work has included the IEEE Emilio Gatti Radiation Instrumentation Technical Achievement Award, which she received in 2022 for the development of new radiation detectors that operate at the fundamental limits of performance, supporting a range of scientific discoveries and applications, including space telescopes and homeland security. She has authored more than 175 publications and holds two patents.
