and endurance in inner-dominion; <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_peter/1-7.htm#literal"><b>7</b></a></span>and godliness in endurance; and brotherly affection in godliness; and love in brotherly affection. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_peter/1-8.htm#literal"><b>8</b></a></span>For these things already existing and abounding in you make you neither idle (lazy, inactive, non-working) nor unfruitful unto the knowledge (knowing upon, recognition, cognizance) of our Lord Jesus Christ; <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_peter/1-9.htm#literal"><b>9</b></a></span>For in whomever these things are not present, he is blind, being short sighted, having received forgetfulness of the purification (purging, cleansing) of his former sins. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_peter/1-10.htm#literal"><b>10</b></a></span>Therefore all the more, brothers, be speedily diligent, to make your calling and election (eklogen-choosing out, selection, conclusively speak out of and to a given outcome, latin-electionem) sure (secure, solid, solid/sure enough to walk on), for in practicing these things you shall never stumble at any time. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_peter/1-11.htm#literal"><b>11</b></a></span>For in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ will be richly (abundantly) supplied to you.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_peter/1-12.htm#literal"><b>12</b></a></span>Therefore I will always be ready to remind you concerning these things, although knowing them and having been confirmed in the truth being present in you. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_peter/1-13.htm#literal"><b>13</b></a></span>And I consider (lead, suppose) it right, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up (arouse your mind) by (in) reminding you; <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_peter/1-14.htm#literal"><b>14</b></a></span>Knowing that the putting off of my tabernacle is impending, just as also our Lord Jesus Christ has made evident (clear) to me; <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_peter/1-15.htm#literal"><b>15</b></a></span>And I will be speedily diligent to make a lasting remembrance of these things for you to always have after my departure.<p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_peter/1-16.htm#literal"><b>16</b></a></span>For we have not followed out cleverly devised myths (fables) when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ; but rather having been eyewitnesses (looker-upon, spectator) of His majesty (splendor, greatness, latin-magnitudinis-greatness like magnitude). <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/2_peter/1-17.htm#literal"><b>17</b></a></span>For having received honor (valuing) and glory from God the Father, such a voice having been brought (carried) to Him by (under) the Majestic Glory: &#8220;This is My beloved Son unto whom I am well-pleased.&#8221;
