A great multitude came to Him, having heard how much He was doing. </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/3-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span>And He spoke to His disciples, that a boat might wait upon Him, on account of the crowd, that they might not press upon Him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/3-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>For He healed many, so as for as many as had diseases to press upon Him, that they might touch Him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/3-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>And the unclean spirits, whenever they beheld Him, were falling down before Him and crying out, saying, “You are the Son of God.” <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/3-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>And He would rebuke them much, so that they should not make Him known. </p><p class="hdg">The Twelve Apostles<br /><span class="cross">(Matthew 10:1-4; Luke 6:12-16)</span></p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/3-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>And He goes up on the mountain and calls near those whom He Himself wanted, and they went to Him. <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/3-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>And He appointed twelve ones, and He called <i>them</i> apostles, that they might be with Him, and that He might send them to preach, <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/3-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>and to have authority to cast out demons. </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/3-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>And He appointed the Twelve; and to Simon He added <i>the</i> name Peter; <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/3-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>and James the <i>son</i> of Zebedee, and John the brother of James, and He added to them <i>the</i> name Boanerges, which is, Sons of Thunder; <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/3-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span>and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the <i>son</i> of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Zealot, <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/3-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him. </p><p class="hdg">A House Divided<br /><span class="cross">(Matthew 12:22-30; Luke 11:14-23)</span></p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/3-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>And He comes to a house, and a crowd comes together again, so that not even are they able to eat bread. <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/3-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span>And those belonging to Him having heard, went out to seize Him; for they were saying, “He is out of His mind.” </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/3-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>And the scribes, those having come down from Jerusalem, were saying, “He has Beelzebul,” and “By the prince of the demons He casts out the demons.” </p><p class="reg"><span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/3-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span>And having called them to <i>Him</i>, He began speaking to them in parables: <span class="red">“How is Satan able to cast out Satan? <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/3-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span>And if a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom is not able to stand. <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/3-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span>And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/3-26.htm"><b>26</b></a></span>And if Satan has risen up against himself and has been divided, he is not able to stand, but is coming to an end. <span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/3-27.htm"><b>27</b></a></span>But no one is able, having entered into the house of the strong man, to plunder his goods, unless first he binds the strong man.
