Migration of labour has, undoubtedly, some impact on employment, labour market, rural development, social welfare, labour management, migrant networks etc. A good understanding of the labour force is imperative for framing appropriate labour market policies and inclusive economic growth policies. Analysing the extent, and trend of labour migration policies as they influence upon labour market and economic development of a country. Design/Methodology/Approach: Descriptive Research was used in this study, which is focused on secondary data sources. Secondary data is gathered through books, newspapers, journals, articles, and government websites. Findings: Migration has always been an important factor in population expansion and economic development, according to a thorough examination of the literature. People have moved across national and international borders in search of better lifestyles. Originality/Value: This paper considers the issues and impacts of labour migration on national development. Though, the debate is age-old and aspect of migration is dealt by different disciplines in different ways ranging from social processes (sociology) to qualitative and quantitative research (economics) but what we are failing is to cover migration from the geographers perspective. The purview of Geography as a discipline is much more wide as compared to other disciplines and encompasses socio (social geography), economic (economic geography), demographic (population geography), urbanization (urban geography) attributes of different disciplines. Geography brings a significant contribution to the understanding of the phenomenon of migration and the geo-technologies allow complex quantitative analysis, highlighting the causes and consequences of migration to and from the rural regions. The present study aims to propose a working methodology for the spatial analysis of the phenomenon of migration in the regions of origin and destination of the migration flows. The proposed research methodology is illustrated by applying it to the two geographical regions studied: the Historical Maramureş (Romania) and Castilla la Mancha (Spain). The Geographical Information Systems analysis allows the outlining of the proposed responses to a series of questions on the origin of migration, dispersal, dynamics and impact of these flows on the geographical space. The technology used is ArcGIS Desktop, one of the most comprehensive Geographical Informational System platforms, which facilitates the spatial database, data representation and geostatistical analyses. The intellectual roots of the field stretch back at least to the nineteenth century, since which time it has focused on the drivers of human mobility and the processes of adaptation that follow. But never before has it drawn such sustained attention from so many researchers across such a broad range of backgrounds. Migration is becoming an increasingly visible and important element of human experience, and more than ever before, migration studies is becoming a distinctive and integrated field of scholarship, with its own approaches and institutions. This journal is being established to help galvanize the field still further. It aims to provide an interdisciplinary forum for leading research that develops the core concepts, data, and methods needed by migration scholars in the twenty-first century and beyond.
