Though, the debate is age-old and aspect of migration is dealt by different disciplines in different ways ranging from social processes (sociology) to qualitative and quantitative research (economics) but what we are failing is to cover migration from the geographers perspective. Therefore, its analysis is necessary for its understanding and control. Hence, the aim of this research was to identify and describe the most frequent reasons that motivate migration, according to the available literature. To achieve this, an indepth bibliographic review was carried out, through the analytical-synthetic method, during the period 1982-2022. The selection of the theoretical material used was carried out through a signing process, following the inductive-deductive method. The results indicated that there are at least five main categories that promote migration, these being economic, social, political, demographic and ecological, each with its own reasons. It was concluded that the migratory phenomenon does not occur within a specific temporality, but in different periods of time. In addition, the factors that are contemplated among the mentioned categories usually develop simultaneously, which contributes to the complexity of analysis and solution of this phenomenon. But whereas both fertility and mortality operate within the biological framework, migration does not. It influences size, composition and distribution of population. More importantly, migration influences the social, economic and ecological aspects of both destination and departure system. In this study we have discussed the several causes of migration with special emphasis on how these causes are affecting the distance of migration. The present study is conducted in Ghoragachha village under Saguna gram panchayet, Nadia, West Bengal. The numbers of respondents were 60 and they were selected randomly. the data were collected trough pilot survey, structured interview and focused group interview. The statistical tools used for data analysis are correlation coefficient, step down regression, path analysis and factor analysis.family Education(in years)- (X3), number of source information acquired-(X8), Cosmo politeness- (X13), Per capita income from Agriculture and livestock -(X16) and per capita annual other Expenditures-(X19) ;these are the independent variables which are significant with respect to dependent variable i.e. Y2: Distance of migration.
