Thus, RMG industry is considered as the backbone of the country\u0026amp;#39;s economy, especially in terms of employment and export earnings. This analysis is based on a primary survey of 120 garment workers located at Ashulia in the suburb of Dhaka city. It was found that garment workers were working on an average 10.38 hours a day, but they received an average income less than 8,000 taka (equivalent to US$ 103) per month. Findings also suggest that most garment workers lead a life characterized by misery and deprivation, along with a gloomy future. Thus, the standard of living of garment workers appears to be in precarious condition and very few have been able to come out of the vicious circle of These women do work outside in order to survive themselves and to feed their family members. They prefer working in garment factory assuming that it is comparatively safe for them and usually paying them regularly whatever the amount is. These workers' contribution in the garment industry is significant; in contrast the garment industry's contribution to them is disappointing. Throughout our survey we tried to find out the contributing factors that are reasonable for their lower economic and living standard. This analysis is based on the survey of 300 unskilled female workers in EPZ and non EPZ areas of Dhaka and Gazipur district. Comprehensive interview and observations of the living and economic conditions of unskilled female workers have been conducted through a structured questionnaire. Tire ultimate findings of this study is that the living and economic condition of female garments workers are in unsteady condition and they are still in the abject poverty. Therefore, this industry is treated as a leading contributor to generating female employment in Bangladesh. Before analyzing the living condition of the RMG female workers, we should have to know about the income of the RMG female workers. Study shows that 42% of female RMG workers are satisfied, and 16% of the workers are dissatisfied, and 31% of the workers do express their opinion regarding their earning. In most case, female workers is the only one earning members in the family Satisfaction level of the workers is a subjective judgment. The housing condition of female workers in Dhaka city is not well at all. In our survey observed that the maximum number of the garments workers stay in the rural and overcrowded area in Dhaka city like workers who live in Hazaribag, Kamrangirchor, who works in the factory located at Panthapath. The workers of RMG sectors are involved in the direct physical effort every day. According to the Bangladesh Labor Act of 2006, the maximum working hours of garment workers is 8 hours. But they have to work over 8 hours per day. But most of the female workers have to work over 8 hours. This has a look at indicates that that female garment workers in Dhaka city are doing work on an average of 10.5 hours in the garment factory, but they receive an average salary less than Tk. 6500 per month. Already the government fixed the minimum wages for their better standard of living. But it is not sufficient for the garment works to live in Dhaka city. The sector rapidly became important in terms of employment, foreign exchange earnings, and its contribution to the national economy. This study intended to explore and investigate the significant factors of discrimination of wages among garment workers and their socio-economic status. In this study, data have been collected through a two-stage cluster sampling design. A total of 240 garment workers were interviewed from eight areas in Dhaka city. From the analytical results, it is shown that most of the garment workers are from the rural areas of the country (90%) and female (60%). Moreover, they are poorly educated as 46% of them only have primary education and also young as 59% of their ages are less than 24 years.
