Then, the methodological approach to the conduction of the survey is explained. 2. The survey analysis first focuses on the garment workers\u0026amp;#39; social background and living conditions which determine their private life to a considerable extent. It will be shown, that it is mainly young female garment worker who engage in the job before settling down in married life. Also, workers free time engagements are focused in order to draw a picture of their activities. 3. The socioeconomic situation of workers will be described. The contribution of the workers to the total households\u0026amp;#39; livelihood as well as their restrictedness in spending their earnings will be shown. However, if household savings are possible and pursued this can constitute a social safety net. 4. The employment conditions, as employment length in one factory, working hours and leave will be focused. A regression on the basic income of workers reveals the lack of implementation of the new minimum wage in Chittagong for female helpers. 5. Awareness on Labour Law related issues as well as workers\u0026amp;#39; rights and responsibilities shall be discussed exemplary. 6. As the poorest group of workers a target group analysis of workers earning below minimum wage and their general situation shall be regarded. 7. A conclusion on the poverty situation and empowerment status will be drawn. 8. Recommendations will be deduced. There are more than 4,500 garment companies are operating in Bangladesh. More than 80% of the foreign earnings are coming from this sector. At present, four million workers are working in this sector in which 90% are rural women. It is claimed by the employers that the garment companies have helped to develop the socioeconomic status of the rural women employed in this sector. Hence, this paper aims at identifying the socioeconomic status factors of the garment workers of Bangladesh. This study suggests that housing, water and sanitation conditions, medical facilities and first aid treatment, wages, social status, adaptation of cultural values and norms, attachment with labor unions, ownership arrangement, leave with pay and overtime are significantly related to the socioeconomic status of the garments workers of Bangladesh. The Ready Made Garment and Apparel Industries has a more excellent potential than whatever available part as far as other employments and foreign trade profit to diminish state of extreme poverty and make a commitment to the social and the national economy. Minimum Wage Context Living Wage Bangladesh 5,300 taka a month (68 USD; 54 EUR).It is estimated that workers have to spend 25,687 taka is the living Wage calculated by this is below the average in Asia. However working conditions in this imperative division are poor, which impacts directly on the Social and Economic condition of the country. One of the biggest challenges currently faced by our Bangladesh's RMG factories to ensure Workplace safety and better Working Condition for the millions of garments workers.. That is, they don't conform to labor rehearses that guarantee the social welfare of their workers. This article surveys the literature review on working conditions in Bangladesh's Ready Made Garment and Worker personal interview which located in center of Dhaka. Therefore, this industry is treated as a leading contributor to generating female employment in Bangladesh. Before analyzing the living condition of the RMG female workers, we should have to know about the income of the RMG female workers. Study shows that 42% of female RMG workers are satisfied, and 16% of the workers are dissatisfied, and 31% of the workers do express their opinion regarding their earning. In most case, female workers is the only one earning members in the family Satisfaction level of the workers is a subjective judgment. The housing condition of female workers in Dhaka city is not well at all. In our survey observed that the maximum number of the garments workers stay in the rural and overcrowded area in Dhaka city like workers who live in Hazaribag, Kamrangirchor, who works in the factory located at Panthapath. The workers of RMG sectors are involved in the direct physical effort every day. According to the Bangladesh Labor Act of 2006, the maximum working hours of garment workers is 8 hours. But they have to work over 8 hours per day. But most of the female workers have to work over 8 hours. This has a look at indicates that that female garment workers in Dhaka city are doing work on an average of 10.5 hours in the garment factory, but they receive an average salary less than Tk. 6500 per month. Already the government fixed the minimum wages for their better standard of living. But it is not sufficient for the garment works to live in Dhaka city. At the end of 2004, the sector survived the Multi-Fiber Arrangement (MFA) phase out as it triumphed over the relative emerging economies and continues to remain internationally competitive till date. The dynamic development of the industry has entailed great diversity in efficiency in comparison with the garment industries of other developing countries. Although there is a significant scale effect in profitability and productivity, no supporting evidence was found for the positive impact on competitiveness of industrial upgrading in terms of usage of expensive machinery, vertical integration, and industrial agglomeration. However, the painfully crippling state of working conditions for the labour, the safety hazards that they are forced to work in, and bleak future prospects ahead of them are just some of the concerns of the Bangladesh RMG sector. Amongst the garment workers 70 per cent are women, they toil from dawn to dusk even up to late night in spite of the wage discriminations and below satisfactory working levels. Affording daily items such as foods, cloths, housing, medicines, and even education of their wards necessitates umpteen of sacrifices. As a result, their children are deprived from their care and suffer from grave malnutrition coupled with unhygienic complexities. They simply have no time or scope for recreation and are even at times employed in making the garments themselves. Market force, represented by low wage of labor, the lackadaisical government attitudes, the negligence of legislative and the executive arms of the state and the dynamism inside the industry are just some of the factors responsible for their exploitation. The roles of the government, industrial associations and technology transfer are also known to affect the workers negatively.
