His Servants said to him: &#8220;Behold, a woman who brings up spirits of the dead is in Aduir&#8221;<p> <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_samuel/28-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>And Shaul stripped his garments and wore another robe, and he went on, he and two men with him, and they came to the woman in the night, and Shaul said to her: &#8220;Divine for me by the spirits of the dead and bring up for me him whom I will say to you&#8221; And he said, bring up Shemueil to me&#8221; <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_samuel/28-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>And the woman saw Shemueil and she wailed in a loud voice and she said to Shaul: &#8220;What is this that you have done to me? Why have you deceived me?&#8221; and &#8220;You are Shaul!&#8221; <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_samuel/28-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>And the King said to her: &#8220;Do not be afraid! What have you seen?&#8221; And the woman said to Shaul: &#8220;I have seen gods coming up from the Earth!&#8221; <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_samuel/28-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>And he said to her, &#8220;What is his appearance?&#8221; She said to him: &#8220;An old man came up and he was clothed with a cloak.&#8221; And Shaul knew that it was Samuel, and he fell on his face on the ground and he worshiped<p> <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_samuel/28-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>And Shemueil said to Shaul: &#8220;Why have you disturbed me to bring me up?&#8221; And Shaul said: &#8220;I have been very grieved and the Philistines are fighting with me, and God has gone away from me and does not answer me anymore, neither by the hand of the Prophets, nor by dreams.
