with particular reference to the importance of the influence that popular cartoons have on the age of preschool children. We use the method of analysis and comparison of a sample of fairy tales, according to the chronology of creation, taking into account both the meaning of the story and the scenario, as well as the wealth of visual and musical content with which these popular animated films captivate children. The analysis shows that the changes in social stereotypes of women in the range from the middle of the 20th century to today are clearly evident in the representation of women in the animated Disney fairy tale, as well as changes in the importance and role of male characters. Taking into account the enormous viewership and popularity of these cartoons, we conclude that through an animated film as one of the powerful media content that influences preschool children, it is possible to project the ideal of a woman-heroine to the youngest age of girls, simultaneously portraying changes in the stereotype of their partners. Forming the image of a woman as girls who identify with Disney princesses would like to become can have a far-reaching sociological impact in the formation of attitudes, both about the role of women in the modern social moment, and about gender identity in general. Gender roles and their psychological characteristics have completely changed in the twenty-first century compared to the twentieth century. The revolution in terms of 3d animation and graphic solutions, i.e. the artistic embodiment of that virtual world, is followed by a revolution in terms of the role and characteristics of male and female characters in an animated fairy tale.In the current social moment, an important task for educators is the question of recognizing in video content for children the redefinition of the concepts of gender and sex. The recommendation of this research is that educators become aware of the influence of visual arts on the creation of gender stereotypes, select and present them in a way that does not violate the democratic standards of modern society, but also does not offend the tradition and importance of the natural family environment from which most children come.Considering the conclusions about the powerful and effective influence of the mass media on the formation and choice of ideals that are recommended to children of an early age through animated content, the question arises of the need for parents and educators to become aware of these influences and, with such knowledge, offer children positive views and interpretations, as well as selection of alternative visual change of stereotypes of women and their social role through the characters of princessesthe main heroines of animated fairy tales by The Walt Disney Studios; with particular reference to the importance of the influence that popular cartoons have on the age of preschool children. We use the method of analysis and comparison of a sample of fairy tales, according to the chronology of creation, taking into account both the meaning of the story and the scenario, as well as the wealth of visual and musical content with which these popular animated films captivate children. The analysis shows that the changes in social stereotypes of women in the range from the middle of the 20th century to today are clearly evident in the representation of women in the animated Disney fairy tale, as well as changes in the importance and role of male characters. Taking into account the enormous viewership and popularity of these cartoons, we conclude that through an animated film as one of the powerful media content that influences preschool children, it is possible to project the ideal of a woman-heroine to the youngest age of girls, simultaneously portraying changes in the stereotype of their partners. Forming the image of a woman as girls who identify with Disney princesses would like to become can have a far-reaching sociological impact in the formation of attitudes, both about the role of women in the modern social moment, and about gender identity in general. Gender roles and their psychological characteristics have completely changed in the twenty-first century compared to the twentieth century. The revolution in terms of 3d animation and graphic solutions, i.e. the artistic embodiment of that virtual world, is followed by a revolution in terms of the role and characteristics of male and female characters in an animated fairy tale.In the current social moment, an important task for educators is the question of recognizing in video content for children the redefinition of the concepts of gender and sex. We use the method of analysis and comparison of a sample of fairy tales, according to the chronology of creation, taking into account both the meaning of the story and the scenario, as well as the wealth of visual and musical content with which these popular animated films captivate children. The analysis shows that the changes in social stereotypes of women in the range from the middle of the 20th century to today are clearly evident in the representation of women in the animated Disney fairy tale, as well as changes in the importance and role of male characters. Taking into account the enormous viewership and popularity of these cartoons, we conclude that through an animated film as one of the powerful media content that influences preschool children, it is possible to project the ideal of a woman-heroine to the youngest age of girls, simultaneously portraying changes in the stereotype of their partners. Forming the image of a woman as girls who identify with Disney princesses would like to become can have a far-reaching sociological impact in the formation of attitudes, both about the role of women in the modern social moment, and about gender identity in general. Gender roles and their psychological characteristics have completely changed in the twenty-first century compared to the twentieth century. The revolution in terms of 3d animation and graphic solutions, i.e. the artistic embodiment of that virtual world, is followed by a revolution in terms of the role and characteristics of male and female characters in an animated fairy tale.In the current social moment, an important task for educators is the question of recognizing in video content for children the redefinition of the concepts of gender and sex. Bordieu (2002), when discussing the differentiation between the sexes, points out that the anatomical opposition between the male and female bodies would have been used to justify and naturalize the different social roles attributed to men and women. When we think about history, an inevitable element over time is always present: transformations. The relationships established between the male and the female are no different. These relations were many until the twentieth century and it is at that moment that changes are perceived concerning the roles assigned to both genders. The aim of this work was to analyze the transformations of the feminine and the masculine in the Disney princess films during the 20 th and early 21 st centuries. The methodology used was bibliographic research, with Bourdieu (2002), Chartier (2002) and Castells (2006) being the main references. In light of this fact, an excessive number of youngsters are watching television excessively and the cartoons that they watch have turned out to be an addiction. Children distinguish promptly with cartoon characters, such characters can be sure good examples that empower good conduct among children. Krish, for instance, always helps people of his surroundings. On the other side, there can be bad character that provides no moral lesson to children like Kidmara. Cartoons play an essential part in framing children"s perception about male and female. They observe the behaviour and action of the characters and try to copy them. Being susceptible to gender stereotypes that are portrayed on television, particularly in cartoon series, they reinforce those accepted behavior shown through media, in their lives. Likewise, in an article by Arma (2010), "The effect of cartoon movies on children's gender development", the focus is on pros and cons of animated series and the roles that are ascribed to cartoons. The paper claims that the cartoon movies are not limited to entertainment purposes but they involve socializing aspects, gender stereotyping being one of them. Further, Arma also highlights that characters in the movies can be both human and nonhuman or living or non-living objects. Non-living and non-human characters show human highlights, for example, they can talk, walk simply like people. These types of characters are important in the movies because of their human like features. In some cartoons, lifeless and animal characters play stereotypical female or male roles. In some cartoon movies, sex reassignment takes place wherein a female character disguises as male or vice-a-versa intrigued with magical realism. Likewise, in cartoon movies sex transformation also takes place which often creates uneasiness or nervousness among children. Children have no sense of understanding; they don"t realize that there exists a remarkable gap between reality and fantasy. Such kind of transformations in cartoon series affects the psyche of the child and its development. So, gender disparity is clearly reflected through the characters roles. The media images of gender have been found stereotypical and discriminated while there have been many debates on the under representation and biased treatment of gender related issues. This research study particularly analyzed how media narratives play a part in the construction of gender identities in animated movies. Through stories that employ numerous narrative and artistic techniques, today's filmic characters are demonstrating an increasing adherence to socio-cultural changes as they are giving voice to diversified forms of identity in order to deconstruct those stereotypes that, historically, have categorised girls and women, both real and fictional. Starting from a theoretical basis grounded in Gender Pedagogy and Film Studies, the paper aims to offer a pedagogical overview of the portrayals presented in contemporary children's cinema, from the latest Disney heroines to the female protagonists of Hayao Miyazaki's works, up to independent cinema's products. Tramite storie che utilizzano tecniche narrative ed artistiche diverse, gli attuali personaggi filmici stanno dimostrando una sempre maggiore aderenza ai cambiamenti socio-culturali, dando voce a forme identitarie diversificate e oltre gli stereotipi che, storicamente, hanno caratterizzato bambine, ragazze, donne, tanto reali quanto fittizie. This essay attempts to show how gender identity in the Disney princess animations still conforms to outmoded patriarchal values.
