Faculty regularly publish their work in the top journals in economics, often with current and former graduate students as co-authors. </p> <h2 dir="ltr">A vibrant, collaborative community</h2> <p>Collaboration is the key to success, especially in the first few years of graduate school. The graduate student leadership committee hosts a student-oriented <a href="/events/workshops/graduate-student-workshops/">workshop</a> on Fridays, where you can present your own research to receive feedback from peers before presenting to professors.</p> <p>You can also relax and enjoy social activities with the department community. I initially interviewed with her when I applied to the PhD program at Notre Dame. I reached out to her during the second semester of my first year to ask if she was looking for a research assistant for the upcoming academic year. She asked me which one I would be most interested in and we began working on the project following the comprehensive exams.
