This is crucial, because many educators/teachers are becoming confused and frustrated by the myriad approaches and ways of talking about technology’s role. Although much in twenty-first century primary/secondary education still needs to be figured out, such as creating a generally-agreed-upon twenty-first century curriculum, one goal is, I think, now clear – the pedagogy with which our kids should be taught. Although it can be stated in many ways, the basic direction is away from the “old” pedagogy of teachers “telling” (or talking, or lecturing, or being the “Sage on the Stage”) to the “new” pedagogy of kids teaching themselves with teacher’s guidance (a combination of “student-centered learning,” “problem-based learning,” “case-based learning,” and the teacher’s being the “Guide on the Side.”) Of course this pedagogy is not really new, except, at the moment, to many of our teachers. Every teacher and administrator is, currently, somewhere on a continuum between the old and the new paradigms. Our herculean task is to move all of them, around the world, to the new pedagogy as quickly as possible. We seek, through a qualitative research, to understand how the teachers of the cities of Juiz de Fora/MG and Petrópolis/RJ prepared their classes, adapting their pedagogical activities to the needs of the students, with the use of digital technologies. For data collection, we used the Form Google forms, sent to teachers from four municipalities - Juiz de Fora/MG, Magé/RJ, Petrópolis/RJ and Rio de Janeiro/RJ. Our studies were based on Moran (2008), Nóvoa (1995) and Tardif (2002). The current study aimed to understand the different digital technologies which are proved evidently useful for the better learning. When people talk about the future of education, it often triggers visions of an iPad in every student's hands, classes monitored—or even taught—by robots, and teachers lecturing via webcam to hundreds of thousands of pupils at any given moment. Some of this is already happening in one form or another. Without a doubt, technology will be a crucial part of the future of education. Many digital technologies are making tremendous change in teaching and learning process. The present paper also tries to highlight some of the digital technologies for the future classroom. Such as interactive board, digital desk, iris pen scanner, live scribe smart pen etc. The paper tries to meet the objectives, to understand the importance of digital technologies, to identify different digital technologies as tools.
