The camp was actually situated in a different village named Tisău, but the stones the artists used for their sculptures came from Măgura. The initiative was fueled by the idea of marking XVI centuries since the first documented reference of Buzău city. There are 256 stone sculptures creating an unexpected landscape in the area, a forest of sculptures covering various themes in modernist style. The land on which the sculptures are placed (21 ha) belongs to Ciolanu Monastery nearby to the large ensemble, but the municipality is in charge with its administration. During the months of August and September for 16 years sculptors worked intensively to develop this unique outdoor park of stone sculptures. During our research travel to Măgura in the context of the CNCSIS research project The Saint of Montparnasse from Document to Myth. A Century of Constantin Brancusi Exegesis (exploratory research project National Romanian Authority for Scientific Research, project number PN-II-ID-PCE-2011-3-0200) in 2015 we have discovered an important cultural heritage reflecting relevant aspects related to the forms of representation in sculpture during the communist regime. The inventory of the whole ensemble partly visible on site with labels for each edition with names of the artists and work titles is a significant thematic repertory revealing mostly a traditional perspective in the sculpting process of stone carving and aesthetic and thematic inspiration linked with national folklore, various homages, nudes and heroic figures. La taille directe or direct carving following the model imposed by Constantin Brancusi seems to have been used by the sculptors interested in the unpolished and expressive shapes of the stone block, thus often creating more abstract pieces but keeping a permanent contact with tradition, local history and ethnographic motifs. Although the artists were invited to create "freely" in those times of censorship, meaning rather that they were not limited to propagandistic topics, still the traditional environment that shaped artistic practices could not determine any anti-system suspicions. The topics were conventional, based on local traditions and national values. Le terme apparait pour la première fois dans le Dictionnaire historique et critique de Bayle en 1697 et ne s'impose véritablement qu'au XIX ème siècle, les vocables d' « histoires » et surtout de « vies» résistant jusque vers 1920. Sous ces formes individualisées ou comme canevas de récits plus larges, le genre qui existe depuis l'Antiquité,-500 ans avant Jésus-Christ environ, est central en histoire. Reine incontestée pendant des siècles, la biographie a été progressivement mise au ban de l'histoire à partir du XIX ème siècle et plus encore au début du vingtième siècle avec la professionalisation de la discipline. Car la distinction n'a pas toujours été évidente entre biographie historique et biographie littéraire. Le genre n' a pas cessé en effet, sous ses multiples formes, d' osciller entre érudition et romanesque : on s'est longtemps contenté de rapporter des faits sans se préoccuper de la véracité ni des explications et des causes de ceux-ci. Aujourd'hui encore, les canons du genre restent flous. La biographie historique n'est-elle qu'un exercice pour amateurs ? La démarche est-elle illusoire ? Y at -il une « idéologie biographique » comme l'avançait Bertaux en 1976, ou une « illusion biographique », ainsi que le soutenait encore Bourdieu en 1986 ? Deux soeurs A. Elisabeth Elisabeth Catez naît un dimanche matin-le 18 juillet 1880-au camp militaire d'Avord, près de Bourges, où son père Joseph est capitaine. Le 22 juillet, elle est baptisée à la chapelle du camp militaire. L'enfant se révèle d'une nature volcanique. [ « Elle est un pur diable et une grande parleuse » rapporte sa maman lorsqu'elle a 22 mois. Sa soeur Guite (Marguerite née le 20 février 1883) témoignera : « elle est très vive, emportée même : des colères, tout à fait des vraies colères, elle est très diable ! » Quelques gestes et réactions religieuses dénotent bien son attrait pour la vie intérieure, au-delà de sa nature vive. Toute petite, elle embrasse volontiers son crucifix. Lorsque sa grand-mère est malade, elle prie et fait prier sa poupée, la mettant à genoux ! Sa même poupée Jeannette est empruntée à son insu pour représenter l'Enfant Jésus à la crèche… Hélas, Elisabeth la reconnaît et hurle dans l'église : « Méchant curé, rendez-moi ma Jeannette ! »] Elisabeth connaît souvent des larmes de colère ou de repentir lorsque sa maman s'est fâchée… Mais, ses premières vraies larmes de chagrin coulent lorsque le 24 janvier 1887 lorsque son grand-père meurt. Quelques mois plus tard, le 2 octobre 1887, son papa est à son tour emporté par une crise cardiaque. [Cette expérience des deux décès lui fait prendre conscience de la fragilité de la vie. Dès lors, elle s'attache vivement à sa maman et à Guite. Le « trio », comme on les appelle, sillonnera durant les mois d'été les quatre coins de la France où madame Catez, grande voyageuse, compte de nombreux amies et parents. Elisabeth ne fréquente pas l'école. Elle reçoit des leçons de formation générale à la maison et gardera toujours une orthographe très fantaisiste. Par contre, elle passe des heures au piano : à 8 ans elle est inscrite au conservatoire. Ses colères sont toujours aussi violentes, parfois on la menace-en faisant son petit paquet-de l'envoyer interne au Bon Pasteur, une maison de redressement. Son recueillement est déjà frappant à l'église. « J'aimais beaucoup la prière et le bon Dieu, même avant ma première communion, j'étais résolue à n'aimer que Lui et à ne vivre que pour Lui. Je ne comprenais pas qu'on puisse donner son coeur à un autre ». Ce que nous avons voulu faire Nous vivons une période charnière de l'histoire de notre planète, qu'on nomme l'anthropocène, où l'espèce humaine prend conscience de l'impact global qu'elle a sur la Terre. Notre chronologie de l'histoire des sciences et des techniques, cherche donc, dans un sens large, à éclairer le chemin qui nous y a mené. Les sciences et les techniques reflètent les enjeux culturels propres à chaque époque. Elles s'appuient sur des idées et des concepts, bien sûr, mais aussi sur des pratiques d'observation, des expériences, des instruments, des modes de communication dont nous avons essayé de rendre compte. Surtout, elles sont indissociables des hommes et des femmes aux prises avec le monde naturel, mais aussi avec les questions d'ordre social ou politique qui agitent leur vie. Au-delà des « génies de la science » sur lesquels on insiste trop souvent, nous avons voulu dessiner l'aventure collective de la recherche scientifique, ainsi que les mécanismes de transmission et d'appropriation des savoirs, y compris au sein d'un large public.
