this is the seventh month. <A name="4"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-3.htm#aramaic"><b>3</b></a></span>And all the tribes of Israel came and the Priests picked up the Ark of LORD JEHOVAH <A name="5"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-4.htm#aramaic"><b>4</b></a></span>And they brought it to the temple of LORD JEHOVAH, and the Priests of Israel and the Levites also brought up with them the Tent of Time and the vessels of holiness of the Tabernacle. <A name="6"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-5.htm#aramaic"><b>5</b></a></span>And King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel that were assembled to him stood with him in front of the Ark, and they sacrificed sheep and bulls that were not counted and were not computed for their multitude <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-6.htm#aramaic"><b>6</b></a></span>And the Priests brought the Ark of the Covenant of LORD JEHOVAH to its place in the temple, to the Place of The Holy of Holies under the wings of the Cherubim. <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-7.htm#aramaic"><b>7</b></a></span>Because the Cherubim spread their wings in the holy place and were overshadowing with their wings over the Ark and over its poles from above. <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-8.htm#aramaic"><b>8</b></a></span>And the poles were long and the tops of the poles were appearing from the Holy Place in the front of the temple, and were not seen outside, and they have been there until today. <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>There was nothing in the Ark except two tablets of stone that Moshe put there in Khoreeb, when LORD JEHOVAH established a covenant with the children of Israel when they went out from Egypt. <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>And when the Priests went out from the Holy Place, a cloud filled the house of LORD JEHOVAH. <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>And the Priests were not able to stand and minister before the cloud, because the glory of LORD JEHOVAH filled the house of LORD JEHOVAH.<p> <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>Then Solomon said: &#8220;LORD JEHOVAH, you have said to dwell in darkness.<p> <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>And I built the house as a dwelling place for you, fashioned for your dwelling for eternities!&#8221;<p> <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>The King turned his face and he blessed all the multitude of Israel, and all the multitude of Israel stood. <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>And he said: &#8220;Blessed is LORD JEHOVAH, God of Israel, who spoke by his mouth with David my father, and made peace by his hands, and said. <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>&#8216;From the day when I brought out my people the children of Israel from Egypt, I have not taken pleasure in a city of all the tribes of Israel to build the house where my name will be, and I was pleased with David, that he would be over my people Israel.&#8217; <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>And it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of LORD JEHOVAH, God of Israel. <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-18.htm#aramaic"><b>18</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH said to David my father: &#8216;For the sake of what was in your heart, to build a house to my name, it is beautiful what you have done, that was in your heart. <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-19.htm#aramaic"><b>19</b></a></span>However you shall not build a house to my name, but only your son who proceeds from your loins, he shall build a house for my name.&#8217; <A name="21"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-20.htm#aramaic"><b>20</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH has confirmed the word that he spoke, and I have risen in the place of David my father and I sit on the throne of Israel, according to what LORD JEHOVAH said, and I have built a house for the name of LORD JEHOVAH, God of Israel. <A name="22"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-21.htm#aramaic"><b>21</b></a></span>And I set there the Ark of the Covenant of LORD JEHOVAH which he established with our fathers, when he brought them out from the land of Egypt.<p> <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-22.htm#aramaic"><b>22</b></a></span>And Solomon stood before altar of LORD JEHOVAH, next to all the multitude of Israel, and stretched his hands toward Heaven. <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-23.htm#aramaic"><b>23</b></a></span>And he prayed and said: &#8220;LORD JEHOVAH, God of Israel, there is none like you in Heaven from above and upon the Earth from beneath, because you keep covenant and grace for your Servants who walk before you in the truth, with all their heart and with all their soul. <A name="25"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-24.htm#aramaic"><b>24</b></a></span>For you have kept for your Servant David, my father, that which you said to him, and you spoke with your mouth, and with your hands you have fulfilled, as today. <A name="26"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-25.htm#aramaic"><b>25</b></a></span>And now, LORD JEHOVAH, God of Israel, keep for your Servant David my father the thing which you said to him: &#8216;There will not fail for you a son from before me who sits on the throne of Israel, only if your children will guard their ways to walk before me in the truth, as you have walked before me.&#8217; <A name="27"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-26.htm#aramaic"><b>26</b></a></span>And now, LORD JEHOVAH, God of Israel, your word will be steadfast which you swore to your Servant David, my father.<p> <A name="28"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-27.htm#aramaic"><b>27</b></a></span>For is God truly dwelling on the Earth? Behold, Heaven and the Heaven of Heavens do not contain you, therefore this house that I have built does not. <A name="29"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-28.htm#aramaic"><b>28</b></a></span>Be turned to the request of your Servant and to his prayer, LORD JEHOVAH my God, to hear prayer and the prayer that your Servant prays before you today. <A name="30"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-29.htm#aramaic"><b>29</b></a></span>That your eyes will be opened on this house by day and by night in the place where you have said: &#8216;My name will be there&#8217;, to hear the prayer that your Servant prays before you toward this place. <A name="31"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-30.htm#aramaic"><b>30</b></a></span>And hear the prayer of your Servant and of your people, Israel, who pray before you in this place, and you, our God, will hear from your dwelling from Heaven and you will forgive.<p> <A name="32"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-31.htm#aramaic"><b>31</b></a></span>If a man shall sin against his fellow man and he will owe oaths upon his oath, and will come and will swear before your altar in this house <A name="33"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-32.htm#aramaic"><b>32</b></a></span>And you will hear from Heaven, and you will act and you will judge your Servants to condemn the guilty and to render his way on his head, and to justify the innocent and to give to him according to his innocence<p> <A name="34"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-33.htm#aramaic"><b>33</b></a></span>And when your people Israel will be defeated in the battle of an enemy when they will sin before you, and they turn to you and they shall confess your name and they will pray and they shall beg of you in this place <A name="35"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-34.htm#aramaic"><b>34</b></a></span>And you will hear from Heaven and you will forgive the sins of your Servants and of your people Israel, and you shall return them to the no rain because they have sinned against you, and they will come and they will pray in this place, and they will confess your name and they will turn from their sins when you will answer them <A name="37"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-36.htm#aramaic"><b>36</b></a></span>And you will hear from Heaven and you will forgive the sin of your Servants and of your people Israel, when you shall teach them the good way to go in it, and you will give your rain on the land that you have given to your people for an inheritance<p> <A name="38"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-37.htm#aramaic"><b>37</b></a></span>And when famine shall be in the land or plague, or slaughter, or mildew, or locust, or the crawling locust, when it shall be and when enemies will distress them in one of their cities, and any disease and any disease <A name="39"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-38.htm#aramaic"><b>38</b></a></span>Every prayer and every request that any man may have, of all your people, Israel, that each man may know the trouble of his heart and he shall stretch his hands before you in this house <A name="40"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-39.htm#aramaic"><b>39</b></a></span>Also you will hear from Heaven from the foundation of your seat, and you will forgive and you will act and you will give to a man according to his ways, for you will know his heart, because you alone know the hearts of all of the children of men. <A name="41"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-40.htm#aramaic"><b>40</b></a></span>Because they shall be in awe of you all the days that they live on the face of the land which you gave to their fathers.<p> <A land, because of your name <A name="43"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-42.htm#aramaic"><b>42</b></a></span>When they shall hear your great name and your mighty hand and your high arm, and he will come and he will pray before you in this house <A name="44"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-43.htm#aramaic"><b>43</b></a></span>And you will hear from Heaven from the foundation of your seat, and you will do according to what the foreigner called to you, so that all the nations of the Earth will know your name to worship you, as your people Israel, people will come forth to battle against their enemies, on the way that you send them out, and they will pray before you, LORD JEHOVAH, on the street of the city that you have desired and this house that I have built for your name <A name="46"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-45.htm#aramaic"><b>45</b></a></span>And you will hear from Heaven their prayer and their cry and you will perform their justice.<p> <A name="47"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-46.htm#aramaic"><b>46</b></a></span>When they sin against you, because there is not a man who does not sin, and you are angry against them and you hand them over before enemies and their captors take them captive to the land of their enemies, which is far or near <A name="48"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-47.htm#aramaic"><b>47</b></a></span>And they will consider in their heart in the land where they were taken captive, and they will turn and they will beg of you in the land of their captivity, and they will say: &#8220;We have sinned, and we have gone astray and we have done evil&#8221; <A name="49"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-48.htm#aramaic"><b>48</b></a></span>And they will be turned to you from all their heart and from all their soul in the land of their enemies who took them captive, and they will pray before you in the road of their land that you have given to their fathers, the city that you have chosen and the house that I have built to your name <A name="50"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-49.htm#aramaic"><b>49</b></a></span>And you shall hear from Heaven, from the foundation of your throne, their prayer and their cry, and you will perform their cause <A name="51"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-50.htm#aramaic"><b>50</b></a></span>And you will forgive your people because they have sinned against you and for all their offenses that they had offended against you, and you shall give them favor before their captors and they will show compassion upon them <A name="52"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-51.htm#aramaic"><b>51</b></a></span>Because they are your people and your inheritance whom you brought out from Egypt, from the furnace of iron <A name="53"></a><span href="/parallel/1_kings/8-54.htm#aramaic"><b>54</b></a></span>And when Solomon had finished praying all his prayer and this request before LORD JEHOVAH God, he arose from before the altar of LORD JEHOVAH, for he had been kneeling on his knees, and his hands were spread out toward Heaven. <A name="56"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-55.htm#aramaic"><b>55</b></a></span>And he stood and he blessed all the multitude of Israel in a loud voice and said.<p> <A name="57"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-56.htm#aramaic"><b>56</b></a></span>&#8220;Blessed is LORD JEHOVAH God who has given rest to Israel his people, according to what he said, and one word has not fallen of all the good words which he spoke by the agency of Moshe his Servant. <A name="58"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-57.htm#aramaic"><b>57</b></a></span>And LORD JEHOVAH our God will be with us as when he was with our fathers; he will not leave us nor will he forsake us <A name="59"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-58.htm#aramaic"><b>58</b></a></span>To restore our hearts to him, to walk in his ways, to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments that he commanded our fathers. <A name="60"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-59.htm#aramaic"><b>59</b></a></span>And these words that I have prayed before LORD JEHOVAH shall be near LORD JEHOVAH God by night and by day, to do the judgment of his Servant and the judgment of his people Israel every day by day <A name="61"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-60.htm#aramaic"><b>60</b></a></span>So that all the nations of Earth will know that LORD JEHOVAH is God and there is none other outside of him. <A name="62"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-61.htm#aramaic"><b>61</b></a></span>And let your heart be perfect with LORD JEHOVAH our God to walk in his ways and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments and his laws like today.&#8221;<p> <A name="63"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-62.htm#aramaic"><b>62</b></a></span>And King Solomon and all Israel with him were sacrificing a great sacrifice in the presence of LORD JEHOVAH. <A name="64"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-63.htm#aramaic"><b>63</b></a></span>And Solomon offered peace sacrifices in the presence of LORD JEHOVAH: twenty and two thousand bulls and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep, and the King and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of LORD JEHOVAH. <A name="65"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-64.htm#aramaic"><b>64</b></a></span>On that day the King consecrated the inside of the courtyard that was before the house of LORD JEHOVAH, because he made sacrifices and offerings there and the fat of peace offerings, because the altar of brass that was before LORD JEHOVAH was too small to bear the sacrifices and the offerings and the fat of the peace offerings.<p> <A name="66"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-65.htm#aramaic"><b>65</b></a></span>And Solomon made a feast on that day, and all Israel assembled with him from the entrance of Khamath unto the entrance of the river of Egypt before LORD JEHOVAH our God, seven days and seven days fourteen days. <span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/1_kings/8-66.htm#aramaic"><b>66</b></a></span>And in the eighth day the people sent and blessed the King and they went to their tents as they rejoiced, and their hearts were beautiful because of all the good that LORD JEHOVAH did for David his Servant and for his people Israel.
