This transition without damaging single-layer on a large spatial resolution remained elusive until the atomic layer deposition (ALD) technique was utilized. Here we report the ALD-enabled atomic-layer-precision development of a single layer WO3 with thickness of 0.77±0.07 nm on a large spatial resolution by using (tBuN)2W(NMe2)2 as tungsten precursor and H2O as oxygen precursor, without affecting the underlying SiO2/Si substrate. Versatility of ALD is in tuning recipe in order to achieve the complete WO3 with desired number of WO3 layers including monolayer. Governed by self-limiting surface reactions, the ALD-enabled approach is versatile, scalable and applicable for a broader range of 2D semiconductors and various device applications. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Atomic%20Layer%20Deposition%20%28ALD%29" title="Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD)">Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD)</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=tungsten%20oxide" title=" tungsten oxide"> tungsten oxide</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=WO%E2%82%83" title=" WO₃"> WO₃</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=two-dimensional%20semiconductors" title=" two-dimensional semiconductors"> two-dimensional semiconductors</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=single%20fundamental%20layer" title=" single fundamental layer"> single fundamental layer</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/54206/development-of-single-layer-of-wo3-on-large-spatial-resolution-by-atomic-layer-deposition-technique" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/54206.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">242</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8444</span> Design of Ternary Coatings System to Minimize the Residual Solvent in Polymeric Coatings</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jyoti%20Sharma">Jyoti Sharma</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Raj%20Kumar%20Arya"> Raj Kumar Arya</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The coatings of homogeneous ternary solution of Poly(styrene)(PS)-Poly(ethyleneglycol)-6000(PEG) Chlorobenzene (CLB) of two different concentrations (5.05%-4.98%-89.97% and 10.05%-5.12%-84.82%) were studied and dried under quiescent conditions. These solar cells have the potential for efficient energy conversion and are being explored as potential power sources for electronic devices, satellites, and telecommunication equipment. In this study, the aim is to investigate the effect of adding a window layer and a back surface field (BSF) layer made of InₓGa₍₁₋ₓ₎P material to a GaAs single junction solar cell. In this paper, we first obtain the important electrical parameters of a single-junction GaAs solar cell by utilizing a two-dimensional simulator software for virtual investigation of the solar cell; then, we analyze the impact of adding a window layer and a back surface field layer made of InₓGa₍₁₋ₓ₎P on the solar cell. The results show that the incorporation of these layers led to enhancements in Jsc, Voc, FF, and the overall efficiency of the solar cell. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=back%20surface%20field%20layer" title="back surface field layer">back surface field layer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=solar%20cell" title=" solar cell"> solar cell</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=GaAs" title=" GaAs"> GaAs</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=In%E2%82%93Ga%E2%82%8D%E2%82%81%E2%82%8B%E2%82%93%E2%82%8EP" title=" InₓGa₍₁₋ₓ₎P"> InₓGa₍₁₋ₓ₎P</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=window%20layer" title=" window layer"> window layer</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/170469/investigating-the-effect-of-adding-the-window-layer-and-the-back-surface-field-layer-of-inga1p-material-to-gaas-single-junction-solar-cell" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/170469.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">76</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8442</span> The Gradient Complex Protective Coatings for Single Crystal Nickel Alloys</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Evgeniya%20Popova">Evgeniya Popova</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Vladimir%20Lesnikov"> Vladimir Lesnikov</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nikolay%20Popov"> Nikolay Popov</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> High yield complex coatings have been designed for thermally stressed cooled HP turbine blades from single crystal alloys ZHS32-VI-VI and ZHS36 with crystallographic orientation [001]. The fundamental frequencies of the graphyne sheet are compared with the results of the previous study. The results of the comparison are very good in all considered cases. The attached mass causes a shift in the resonant frequency of the graphyne. The frequencies of the single-layer gamma graphyne with an attached mass for different boundary conditions are obtained, and the order based on the boundary condition is CCCC >SSSS > CFCF> SFSF. The highest frequency shift is obtained when the attached mass is located at the center of the graphyne sheet. This is useful for the design of a highly sensitive graphyne-based mass sensor. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=graphyne" title="graphyne">graphyne</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=finite%20element%20analysis" title=" finite element analysis"> finite element analysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=vibration%20analysis" title=" vibration analysis"> vibration analysis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=frequency%20shift" title=" frequency shift"> frequency shift</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/83663/vibration-of-gamma-graphyne-with-an-attached-mass" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/83663.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">212</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8439</span> Implied Fundamental Rights under Article 21 of the Constitution of India: Effects and Applicability </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=N.%20Sathish%20Gowda">N. In the experiment, the difference of the thermal conductivity in three-dimensional space is compared with single-layer cladding and multi-layer cladding. The heat dissipation pattern of the single-layer cladding is the steel plate and the multi-layer coating is the workpiece itself. The relationship between the multi-clad temperature and the profile was analyzed by the temperature signal from an IR pyrometer. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=laser%20cladding" title="laser cladding">laser cladding</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=temperature" title=" temperature"> temperature</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=profile" title=" profile"> profile</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=microstructure" title=" microstructure"> microstructure</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/78506/the-temperature-effects-on-the-microstructure-and-profile-in-laser-cladding" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/78506.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">223</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8436</span> Nice Stadium: Design of a Flat Single Layer ETFE Roof</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=A.%20Escoffier">A. The winning project in Nice was designed by Wilmotte architects together with Elioth structural engineers. It has a capacity of 35,000 seats. Its roof structure consists of a complex 3D shape timber and steel lattice and is covered by 25,000m² of ETFE, 10,500m² of PES-PVC fabric and 8,500m² of photovoltaic panels. This paper focuses on the ETFE part of the cover. The stadium is one of the first constructions to use flat single layer ETFE on such a big area. Due to its relatively recent appearance in France, ETFE structures are not yet covered by any regulations and the existing codes for fabric structures cannot be strictly applied. Rather, they are considered as cladding systems and therefore have to be approved by an “Appréciation Technique d’Expérimentation” (ATEx), during which experimental tests have to be performed. We explain the method that we developed to justify the ETFE, which eventually led to bi-axial tests to clarify the allowable stress in the film. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=biaxial%20test" title="biaxial test">biaxial test</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=creep" title=" creep"> creep</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ETFE" title=" ETFE"> ETFE</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=single%20layer" title=" single layer"> single layer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=stadium%20roof" title=" stadium roof"> stadium roof</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/7195/nice-stadium-design-of-a-flat-single-layer-etfe-roof" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/7195.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">244</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8435</span> Gas Permeation Behavior of Single and Mixed Gas Components Using an Asymmetric Ceramic Membrane</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ngozi%20Claribelle%20Nwogu">Ngozi Claribelle Nwogu</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammed%20Nasir%20Kajama"> Mohammed Nasir Kajama</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Godson%20Osueke"> Godson Osueke</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Edward%20Gobina"> Edward Gobina</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> A unique sol–gel dip-coating process to form an asymmetric silica membrane with improved membrane performance and reproducibility has been reported. First, we deposited repeatedly a silica solution on top of a commercial alumina membrane support to improve its structural make up. The coated membrane is further processed under clean room conditions to avoid dust impurity and subsequent drying in an oven for high thermal, chemical and physical stability. The resulting asymmetric membrane exhibits a gradual change in the membrane layer thickness. Compared to a single-layer process using only the membrane support, the dual-layer process improves both flux and selectivity. For the scientifically significant difficulties of natural gas purification, collective CO2, CH4 and H2 gas fluxes and separation factors obtained gave reasonably excellent values. In addition, the membrane selectively separated hydrogen as demonstrated by a high concentration of hydrogen recovery. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gas%20permeation" title="gas permeation">gas permeation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=silica%20membrane" title=" silica membrane"> silica membrane</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=separation%20factor" title=" separation factor"> separation factor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=membrane%20layer%20thickness" title=" membrane layer thickness"> membrane layer thickness</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/25963/gas-permeation-behavior-of-single-and-mixed-gas-components-using-an-asymmetric-ceramic-membrane" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/25963.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">359</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8434</span> Investigating the Impact of the Laundry and Sterilization Process on the Performance of Reusable Surgical Gowns </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=N.%20Khomarloo">N. One of the concerns in applying this kind of medical protective clothing is reduction of their resistance to bacterial penetration especially in wet state, after repeated laundering and sterilizing process. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the laundering and sterilizing process on the reusable surgical gown’s resistance against bacterial wet penetration. To this end, penetration of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria in wet state after 70 washing and sterilizing cycles was evaluated on the two single-layer and three-layer reusable gowns. The outcomes reveal that up to 20 laundering and sterilizing cycles, protective property of samples improves due to fabric shrinkage, after that because of the fabric’s construction opening, the bacterial penetration increase. However, the three-layer gown presents higher protective performance comparing to the single-layer one. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=laundry" title="laundry">laundry</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=porosity" title=" porosity"> porosity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=reusable%20surgical%20gown" title=" reusable surgical gown"> reusable surgical gown</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=sterilization" title=" sterilization"> sterilization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wet%20bacterial%20penetration" title=" wet bacterial penetration"> wet bacterial penetration</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/87644/investigating-the-impact-of-the-laundry-and-sterilization-process-on-the-performance-of-reusable-surgical-gowns" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/87644.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">277</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8433</span> The Problems of Current Earth Coordinate System for Earthquake Forecasting Using Single Layer Hierarchical Graph Neuron</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Benny%20Benyamin%20Nasution">Benny Benyamin Nasution</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rahmat%20Widia%20Sembiring"> Rahmat Widia Sembiring</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Abdul%20Rahman%20Dalimunthe"> Abdul Rahman Dalimunthe</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nursiah%20Mustari"> Nursiah Mustari</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Nisfan%20Bahri"> Nisfan Bahri</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Berta%20br%20Ginting"> Berta br Ginting</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Riadil%20Akhir%20Lubis"> Riadil Akhir Lubis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Rita%20Tavip%20Megawati"> Rita Tavip Megawati</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Indri%20Dithisari"> Indri Dithisari</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The earth coordinate system is an important part of an attempt for earthquake forecasting, such as the one using Single Layer Hierarchical Graph Neuron (SLHGN). However, there are a number of problems that need to be worked out before the coordinate system can be utilized for the forecaster. One example of those is that SLHGN requires that the focused area of an earthquake must be constructed in a grid-like form. In fact, within the current earth coordinate system, the same longitude-difference would produce different distances. This can be observed at the distance on the Equator compared to distance at both poles. To deal with such a problem, a coordinate system has been developed, so that it can be used to support the ongoing earthquake forecasting using SLHGN. Two important issues have been developed in this system: 1) each location is not represented through two-value (longitude and latitude), but only a single value, 2) the conversion of the earth coordinate system to the x-y cartesian system requires no angular formulas, which is therefore fast. The accuracy and the performance have not been measured yet, since earthquake data is difficult to obtain. However, the characteristics of the SLHGN results show a very promising answer. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hierarchical%20graph%20neuron" title="hierarchical graph neuron">hierarchical graph neuron</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multidimensional%20hierarchical%20graph%20neuron" title=" multidimensional hierarchical graph neuron"> multidimensional hierarchical graph neuron</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=single%20layer%20hierarchical%20graph%20neuron" title=" single layer hierarchical graph neuron"> single layer hierarchical graph neuron</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=natural%20disaster%20forecasting" title=" natural disaster forecasting"> natural disaster forecasting</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=earthquake%20forecasting" title=" earthquake forecasting"> earthquake forecasting</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=earth%20coordinate%20system" title=" earth coordinate system"> earth coordinate system</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/118471/the-problems-of-current-earth-coordinate-system-for-earthquake-forecasting-using-single-layer-hierarchical-graph-neuron" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/118471.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">216</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8432</span> Electrochemical Layer by Layer Assembly</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mao%20Li">Mao Li</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Yuguang%20Ma"> Yuguang Ma</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Katsuhiko%20Ariga"> Katsuhiko Ariga</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The performance of functional materials is governed by their ability to interact with surrounding environments in a well-defined and controlled manner. Layer-by-Layer (LbL) assembly is one of the most widely used technologies for coating both planar and particulate substrates in a diverse range of fields, including optics, energy, catalysis, separations, and biomedicine. Herein, we introduce electrochemical-coupling layer-by-layer assembly as a novel fabrication methodology for preparing layered thin films. This assembly method not only determines the process properties (such as the time, scalability, and manual intervention) but also directly control the physicochemical properties of the films (such as the thickness, homogeneity, and inter- and intra-layer film organization), with both sets of properties linked to application-specific performance. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=layer%20by%20layer%20assembly" title="layer by layer assembly">layer by layer assembly</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=electropolymerization" title=" electropolymerization"> electropolymerization</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=carbazole" title=" carbazole"> carbazole</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=optical%20thin%20film" title=" optical thin film"> optical thin film</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=electronics" title=" electronics"> electronics</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/42525/electrochemical-layer-by-layer-assembly" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/42525.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">382</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8431</span> Dual-Layer Microporous Layer of Gas Diffusion Layer for Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells under Various RH Conditions </h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Grigoria%20Athanasaki">Grigoria Athanasaki</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Veerarajan%20Vimala"> Veerarajan Vimala</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=A.%20M.%20Kannan"> A. Since the majority of the energy is currently produced from fossil fuels, there is a global need for clean energy solutions. Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (PEMFCs) offer a very promising solution for transportation applications because of their solid configuration and low temperature operations, which allows them to start quickly. One of the main components of PEMFCs is the Gas Diffusion Layer (GDL), which manages water and gas transport and shows direct influence on the fuel cell performance. In this work, a novel dual-layer GDL with gradient porosity was prepared, using polyethylene glycol (PEG) as pore former, to improve the gas diffusion and water management in the system. The microporous layer (MPL) of the fabricated GDL consists of carbon powder PUREBLACK, sodium dodecyl sulfate as a surfactant, 34% wt. PTFE and the gradient porosity was created by applying one layer using 30% wt. PEG on the carbon substrate, followed by a second layer without using any pore former. The total carbon loading of the microporous layer is ~ 3 mg.cm-2. For the assembly of the catalyst layer, Nafion membrane (Ion Power, Nafion Membrane NR211) and Pt/C electrocatalyst (46.1% wt.) were used. The catalyst ink was deposited on the membrane via microspraying technique. The Pt loading is ~ 0.4 mg.cm-2, and the active area is 5 cm2. The sample was ex-situ characterized via wetting angle measurement, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Pore Size Distribution (PSD) to evaluate its characteristics. Furthermore, for the performance evaluation in-situ characterization via Fuel Cell Testing using H2/O2 and H2/air as reactants, under 50, 60, 80, and 100% relative humidity (RH), took place. The results were compared to a single layer GDL, fabricated with the same carbon powder and loading as the dual layer GDL, and a commercially available GDL with MPL (AvCarb2120). The findings reveal high hydrophobic properties of the microporous layer of the GDL for both PUREBLACK based samples, while the commercial GDL demonstrates hydrophilic behavior. The dual layer GDL shows high and stable fuel cell performance under all the RH conditions, whereas the single layer manifests a drop in performance at high RH in both oxygen and air, caused by catalyst flooding. The commercial GDL shows very low and unstable performance, possibly because of its hydrophilic character and thinner microporous layer. In conclusion, the dual layer GDL with PEG appears to have improved gas diffusion and water management in the fuel cell system. Due to its increasing porosity from the catalyst layer to the carbon substrate, it allows easier access of the reactant gases from the flow channels to the catalyst layer, and more efficient water removal from the catalyst layer, leading to higher performance and stability. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gas%20diffusion%20layer" title="gas diffusion layer">gas diffusion layer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=microporous%20layer" title=" microporous layer"> microporous layer</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=proton%20exchange%20membrane%20fuel%20cells" title=" proton exchange membrane fuel cells"> proton exchange membrane fuel cells</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=relative%20humidity" title=" relative humidity"> relative humidity</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/125153/dual-layer-microporous-layer-of-gas-diffusion-layer-for-proton-exchange-membrane-fuel-cells-under-various-rh-conditions" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/125153.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">124</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8430</span> Polymer Advancement with Poly(High Internal Phase Emulsion) Poly(S/DVB) Modified via Layer-by-Layer for CO2 Adsorption</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Saifon%20Chongthub">Saifon Chongthub</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> The purpose of this research is to synthesize adsorbent foam for CO2 adsorption. As a consequence, we can reveal hysteresis in the two-layer circular tube under the condition. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=contact%20area" title="contact area">contact area</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=energy%20absorbing%20capacity" title=" energy absorbing capacity"> energy absorbing capacity</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=hysteresis" title=" hysteresis"> hysteresis</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=seismic%20isolation%20device" title=" seismic isolation device"> seismic isolation device</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/18191/study-on-hysteresis-in-sustainable-two-layer-circular-tube-under-a-lateral-compression-load" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/18191.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">361</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8427</span> Fabrication of Cylindrical Silicon Nanowire-Embedded Field Effect Transistor Using Al2O3 Transfer Layer</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sang%20Hoon%20Lee">Sang Hoon Lee</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Tae%20Il%20Lee"> Tae Il Lee</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Su%20Jeong%20Lee"> Su Jeong Lee</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Jae%20Min%20Myoung"> Jae Min Myoung</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In order to manufacture short gap single Si nanowire (NW) field effect transistor (FET) by imprinting and transferring method, we introduce the method using Al2O3 sacrificial layer. That's to say, Fundamental Particle has not been discovered in the Nature yet. Because Fundamental Particle consists of specific Physical, Geometrical and Internal bases. Geometrical and Internal characteristics that are considered significant for the elementary and fundamental particles aren’t basic properties, characteristics or criteria of a Fundamental Particle. Of course, completely new Physical and Visual experimental methods of Quantum mechanics and Behavioral-Physical investigations of Particles are needed to study and discover the Fundamental Particle. These are new Physical, Visual and Behavioral-Physical experimental methods for describing and discovering the Fundamental Particle in the Nature and Microworld. Fundamental Particle consists of the same Energy-Mass-Motion system and a symmetry of Energy-Mass-Motion. Fundamental Particle supplies each of the elementary particles with the same Energy-Mass-Motion system at the same time and regulates each of the particles. Fundamental Particle gives Energy, Mass and Motion to each particles at the same time, each of the Particles consists of acquired Energy-Mass-Motion system and symmetry. Energy, Mass, Motion given by the Fundamental Particle to the particles are Symmetrical Equivalent and they remain in their primary shapes in all cases. Fundamental Particle gives Energy-Mass-Motion system and symmetry consisting of different measures and functions to each of the particles. The Motion given by the Fundamental Particle to the particles is Gravitation, Gravitational Interaction not only gives Motion, but also cause Motion by attracting. All Substances, Fields and Cosmic objects consist of Energy-Mass-Motion. The Field also includes specific Mass. They are always Energetic, Massive and Active. Fundamental Particle establishes the bases of the Nature. Supplement and Regulating of all the particles existing in the Nature belongs to Fundamental Particle. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=basic%20properties%20of%20a%20fundamental%20particle" title="basic properties of a fundamental particle">basic properties of a fundamental particle</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=behavioral-physical%20and%20visual%20methods" title=" behavioral-physical and visual methods"> behavioral-physical and visual methods</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=energy-mass-motion%20system%20and%20symmetrical%20equivalence" title=" energy-mass-motion system and symmetrical equivalence"> energy-mass-motion system and symmetrical equivalence</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=fundamental%20particle" title=" fundamental particle"> fundamental particle</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/94061/basic-properties-of-a-fundamental-particle-behavioral-physical-and-visual-methods-for-the-study-of-fundamental-particle" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/94061.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">3730</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8425</span> Improved Photo-Active Layer Properties for Efficient Organic Solar Cells</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Chahrazed%20Bendenia">Chahrazed Bendenia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Souhila%20Bendenia"> Souhila Bendenia</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Samia%20Moulebhar"> Samia Moulebhar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Hanaa%20Merad-Dib"> Hanaa Merad-Dib</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sarra%20Merabet"> Sarra Merabet</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Sid%20Ahmed%20Khantar"> Sid Ahmed Khantar</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Baghdad%20Hadri"> Baghdad Hadri</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In recent years, organic solar cells (OSCs) have become the fundamental concern of researchers thanks to their advantages in terms of flexibility, manufacturing processes and low cost. The sensor based on the In2O3/CuO bilayer porous thin film shows obviously improved sensing performance to ethanol at the lower working temperature, compared to single layer counterpart sensors. The response of In2O3/CuO bilayer sensors exhibits nearly 3 and 5 times higher than those of the single layer In2O3 and CuO porous film sensors over the same ethanol concentration, respectively. The sensing mechanism based on p-n hetero-junction, which contributed to the enhanced sensing performance was also experimentally confirmed by a control experiment which the SiO2 insulation layer was inserted between the In2O3 and CuO layers to break the p-n junction. In addition, the sensing performance can be further enhanced by increasing the number of In2O3/CuO junction layers. The facile process can be easily extended to the fabrication of other semiconductor oxide gas sensors for practical sensing applications. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=gas%20sensor" title="gas sensor">gas sensor</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=multilayer%20porous%20thin%20films" title=" multilayer porous thin films"> multilayer porous thin films</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=In2O3%2FCuO" title=" In2O3/CuO"> In2O3/CuO</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=p-n%20junction" title=" p-n junction"> p-n junction</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/43275/uniform-porous-multilayer-junction-thin-film-for-enhanced-gas-sensing-performance" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/43275.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">323</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8423</span> Mechanical Behavior of PVD Single Layer and Multilayer under Indentation Tests</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=K.%20Kaouther">K. The second layer in a double-layer shield was split into two equivalent layers and the scheme was implemented on the new 'three-layer' shield configuration. The results of such manipulation for water-lead and water-iron shields combinations are presented here for 1 MeV photons. It was found that splitting the second layer introduces some deviation on the overall buildup factor. This expected deviation appeared to be higher in the case of low Z layer followed by high Z. Most known methods of measurements to determine the magnitude and profile of the residual stresses in the pipe wall thickness are layer removal and ring slitting method. The combined layer removal and ring slitting methods described in this paper involves measurement of the circumferential residual stresses with minimal local disturbance. The existing methods used for pipe geometry (ring slitting method) gives a single residual stress value at the bore. The layer removal method which is used more in flat plate specimen is implemented with ring slitting method. The method permits stress measurements to be made directly at different depth in the pipe wall and a well-defined residual stress profile was consequently obtained. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=residual%20stress" title="residual stress">residual stress</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=layer%20removal" title=" layer removal"> layer removal</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=ring%20splitting" title=" ring splitting"> ring splitting</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=HDPE" title=" HDPE"> HDPE</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=wall%20thickness" title=" wall thickness "> wall thickness </a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/25357/assessment-of-residual-stress-on-hdpe-pipe-wall-thickness" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/25357.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">338</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8419</span> Investigation of the Effect of Nickel Electrodes as a Stainless Steel Buffer Layer on the Shielded Metal Arc Welding</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Meisam%20Akbari">Meisam Akbari</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Seyed%20Hossein%20Elahi"> Seyed Hossein Elahi</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Mohammad%20Mashadgarmeh"> Mohammad Mashadgarmeh</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> In this study, the effect of nickel-electrode as a stainless steel buffer layer is considered. The problem is reduced to numerical solving of certain system of linear equations for unknown expansion coefficients. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=beamforming" title="beamforming">beamforming</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=transducer%20array" title=" transducer array"> transducer array</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=BIS-expansion" title=" BIS-expansion"> BIS-expansion</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=piezoelectric%20layer" title=" piezoelectric layer"> piezoelectric layer</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/16649/single-crystal-kerfless-2d-array-transducer-for-volumetric-medical-imaging-theoretical-study" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/16649.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">423</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8417</span> Inter-Filling of CaO and MgO Mixed Layer in Surface Behavior of Al-Mg Alloys Containing Al2Ca</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Seong-Ho%20Ha">Seong-Ho Ha</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Young-Ok%20Yoon"> Young-Ok Yoon</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Shae%20K.%20Kim"> Shae K. The formation of the MgO outmost layer occurs by the surface segregation of Mg in the initial oxidation. After then, the oxidation is proceeded with the formation of MgA12O4 spinel beneath the MgO. Growth of the oxide layer is accelerated by constant formation of MgA12O4 spinel. On the other hand, the oxidation resistance of Al-Mg alloys can be significantly improved simply by Mg+Al2Ca master alloy use as the Mg alloying element and such an improvement is attributed to the CaO/MgO mixed layer. Al-Mg alloy containing Al2Ca shows CaO as the upper layer and MgO as the lower one without MgA12O4 spinel. Such a dense oxide film acts as a protective layer. However, the CaO/MgO scale has the outmost MgO, partly, after a long time exposure to a harsh oxidation condition. The aim of this study is to investigate the inter-filling behaviour of CaO and MgO mixed layer in oxidation resistance mechanism of Al-Mg alloys containing Al2Ca. The process of outmost MgO layer formation will be clarified. <p class="card-text"><strong>Keywords:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Al-Mg%20alloy" title="Al-Mg alloy">Al-Mg alloy</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Al2Ca" title=" Al2Ca"> Al2Ca</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=oxidation" title=" oxidation"> oxidation</a>, <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=MgO" title=" MgO"> MgO</a> </p> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/49097/inter-filling-of-cao-and-mgo-mixed-layer-in-surface-behavior-of-al-mg-alloys-containing-al2ca" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">Procedia</a> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/49097.pdf" target="_blank" class="btn btn-primary btn-sm">PDF</a> <span class="bg-info text-light px-1 py-1 float-right rounded"> Downloads <span class="badge badge-light">283</span> </span> </div> </div> <div class="card paper-listing mb-3 mt-3"> <h5 class="card-header" style="font-size:.9rem"><span class="badge badge-info">8416</span> Investigation on Properties and Applications of Graphene as Single Layer of Carbon Atoms</h5> <div class="card-body"> <p class="card-text"><strong>Authors:</strong> <a href="https://publications.waset.org/abstracts/search?q=Ali%20Ashjaran">Ali Ashjaran</a> </p> <p class="card-text"><strong>Abstract:</strong></p> Graphene is undoubtedly emerging as one of the most promising materials because of its unique combination of superb properties, which opens a way for its exploitation in a wide spectrum of applications ranging from electronics to optics, sensors, and biodevices.
