whatever is appropriate I shall give you.'</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But those departed and he went out again at the sixth and at the ninth hours and did likewise.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And towards the 11th hour he went out and he found others who were standing and were idle, and he said to them, 'Why are you standing and are idle all day?'</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span><span class="spcl">They were saying to him, 'Because no one has hired us.' He said to them, 'You go also to the vineyard, and whatever is appropriate you will receive.'</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But when it was evening, the owner of the vineyard said to his custodian, 'Call the laborers and give them their wages, and start from the last ones up to the first ones.'</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And those of the 11th hour came and they received a denarius each.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And when the first ones came they had hoped that they would receive more, and they received a denarius each also.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And when they received it, they complained to the lord of the estate.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And they were saying, 'These last ones have worked one hour and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the heat of the day.'</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But he answered and said to one of them, 'My friend, I do no evil to you. Did you not agree with me for a denarius?'</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Take yours and go. But I wish to give to this last group even as to you.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Or is it illegal for me to do whatever I want to do with my own? Is your eye evil because I am good?'</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span><span class="spcl">So the last will be first and the first last, for the called are many and the chosen ones are few."</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But Yeshua was prepared to go up to Jerusalem and he took aside his twelve disciples privately on the road and he said to them:</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span><span class="spcl">"Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and The Son of Man will be delivered to the Chief Priests and to the Scribes and they will condemn him to death.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And they will deliver him to Gentiles, and they will mock him, and they will scourge him, and they will crucify him, and the third day he will arise."</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came near to him, she and her sons, and she worshiped him and she was asking him something.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But he said to her, "What do you desire?" And she said to him, "Say that these my two sons will sit, one at your right and one at your left, in your Kingdom."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span><span class="spcl">Yeshua answered and he said, "You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am prepared to drink or to be baptized in the baptism in which I am to be baptized?" They were saying to him, "We are able."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span><span class="spcl">He said to them, "You will drink my cup and you will be baptized in the baptism in which I am baptized, but for you to sit at my right and at my left is not mine to give except to those for whom it is prepared by my Father."</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But when the ten heard it, they were angry with those two brothers.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And Yeshua called them and said to them, "You know the rulers of the Gentiles are their lords and their great ones have authority over them."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-26.htm"><b>26</b></a></span><span class="spcl">"It will not be so among you, but whoever wants to be great among you, let him be one who waits on you."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-27.htm"><b>27</b></a></span><span class="spcl">"And whoever wants to be first among you let him be a servant to you."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-28.htm"><b>28</b></a></span><span class="spcl">"Just as The Son of Man came, not to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give himself a ransom in the place of the many."</span><p> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-29.htm"><b>29</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And when Yeshua went out from Jericho, a great crowd was coming after him.</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-30.htm"><b>30</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And, behold, two blind men were sitting on the side of the road and when they heard that Yeshua was passing by, they gave a cry, and they were saying, "Have mercy on us my Lord, son of David."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-31.htm"><b>31</b></a></span><span class="spcl">But the crowds were rebuking them that they would be silent, and they raised their voices all the more and they were saying, "Our Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-32.htm"><b>32</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And Yeshua stopped and he called them and he said, "What do you want me to do for you"?</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-33.htm"><b>33</b></a></span><span class="spcl">They were saying to him, "Our Lord, that our eyes may be opened."</span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/matthew/20-34.htm"><b>34</b></a></span><span class="spcl">And Yeshua was moved with pity for them and he touched their eyes, and immediately their eyes were opened and they went after him.</span><p></div></div><div id="botbox"><div class="padbot"><div align="center"><a href="//www.lulu.com/shop/rev-david-bauscher/the-original-aramaic-new-testament-in-plain-english-with-psalms-proverbs-8th-edition-with-notes/hardcover/product-21273790.html">The Original Aramaic New Testament in Plain English- with Psalms & Proverbs<br>Copyright &copy; 2007; 8th edition Copyright &copy; 2013<br>All rights reserved.
