Conducting service activity is often badly associated, seen as something mediocre (in Polish perspective). However, service perspective won't rob the museum from traditionally meanings, but it will enrich them giving new explanation fields and broaden the museum meaning. Museum offer is enough unique, that only it, as the service provider is able to enrich the viewer in a unique aesthetic and spiritual values. The way to perform an ancillary role towards the society is undoubtedly providing by museums the public services. The role of public service provider is harmonized with the educational function. There is a need to change the paradigm, in order to notice not only human, but also service dimension of these cultural institutions function.

<button class="ds2-5-text-link ds2-5-text-link--inline js-swp-download-button" data-signup-modal="{"location":"wsj-grid-card-download-pdf-modal","work_title":"Museum as service organization in Report of museum education condition. School teachers, therefore, especially of primary education, have to be aware of the educative potential of museums and of all culturally significant objects available in the immediate or wider vicinity of schools. The study of the relationship between school teachers and museums reveals a lot of important issues in this context: - to what extent are teachers aware of the educative opportunities offered by museums? - what is their attitude towards the relationship between schools and museums? - are the teachers trained to be able to interact with museums in a way that will be fruitful for the education of children? - do they need additional training, in order to be able to use such possibilities? - do the teachers think that they would like to have a decisive role in preparing the “interface” between school and museum, in terms of educational material, the preparation of visits, etc? The present paper investigates the relation between school teachers and museums based mainly on research conducted among teachers in Greece, where museum education courses have only recently been introduced in the University curricula, and tries to identify their needs for training in methods of museum visiting and in using museum educational material in the classroom. The research reveals what form of training they wish to have on these matters and the degree to which they expect and wish to have an active involvement in the design of educational programs produced by museums for school children.

<button class="ds2-5-text-link ds2-5-text-link--inline js-swp-download-button" data-signup-modal="{"location":"wsj-grid-card-download-pdf-modal","work_title":"Vemi \u0026 Kanari : School Teachers and Museum Education: A Key Factor in Expanding the Inclusive Character of Museums","attachmentId":115642596,"attachmentType":"pdf","work_url":"https://www.academia.edu/120520022/Vemi_and_Kanari_School_Teachers_and_Museum_Education_A_Key_Factor_in_Expanding_the_Inclusive_Character_of_Museums","alternativeTracking":true}">downloadDownload free PDFView PDFchevron_right

MUSEUM PROGRAMMES AS TOURIST ATTRACTIONS
Slavko Spasić

The goal of this research was to indicate the transformed role of museums in modern society, not any longer limited to looking back at history but instead actively participating in the contemporary discussions on societal issues and increasingly important in realm of cultural tourism. This type of tourism provides significant contributions to industrial development but also yields substantial intangible gain. The museums in Serbia are presently unsatisfactorily included in the tourist offer. Instead of offering their most attractive parts of collections , these institutions still organize traditional exhibits known as the least interesting way to present the content to diverse target groups of visitors. One of the reasons for this phenomenon is the static nature of museums and un-preparedness to adapt to diverse approaches and listen to outside demands, primarily by the tourism sector which would provide proper information on present trends in tourism and tourists' needs. In their interpretation, many cultural institutions use only the scientific approach, directed toward a narrow target group of expert audience. One of the main reasons for this type of exhibiting is absence of a program team (designer, scenogra-phy expert, architect, and interpreter). Therefore it is necessary to change the strategy and to turn toward the audience, offering a different sparkle of our collections, a new approach and outlook on presentation. The modern museum is expected to have entrepreneur spirit, openness and fast reactions. Therefore the museums must also become market-oriented institutions. In addition, the successful development of culture tourism products demands better cooperation between the sectors of culture and tourism, professionalization of cadre in the cultural institutions, adequate financing of museum programs, as well as implementation of legal framework creating necessary conditions for supporting the development of cultural tourism.

<button class="ds2-5-text-link ds2-5-text-link--inline js-swp-download-button" data-signup-modal="{"location":"wsj-grid-card-download-pdf-modal","work_title":"MUSEUM PROGRAMMES AS TOURIST ATTRACTIONS","attachmentId":51280147,"attachmentType":"pdf","work_url":"https://www.academia.edu/30852929/MUSEUM_PROGRAMMES_AS_TOURIST_ATTRACTIONS","alternativeTracking":true}">downloadDownload free PDFView PDFchevron_right

JAGOŠOVÁ, Lucie, Otakar KIRSCH and Pavol TIŠLIAR. Technical museology counts among the most popular segments of museum culture employed, in particular, in the popularization of science and technology. Through their exhibition activities, as well as museum and educational activities, museums approach target groups of visitors including pupils and students from all types of schools. Museums of technology have documented and mediated the progress in technology in society for nearly 200 years through a wide range of activities, especially in the form of the visualization of technological procedures of production, from the processing of a material to a finished product. This contribution analyses and assesses the basic presentation, educational and scientific activities of the Technical Museum in Brno. It conveys the manners of its communication with the public, as well as the particularities of technical museology.

<button class="ds2-5-text-link ds2-5-text-link--inline js-swp-download-button" data-signup-modal="{"location":"wsj-grid-card-download-pdf-modal","work_title":"JAGOŠOVÁ, Lucie, Otakar KIRSCH and Pavol TIŠLIAR.
