The coronavirus pandemic rapidly sweeps across the world and it has developed a considerable degree of mental stress among all the sections of society. The usage of technological devices has tremendously increased during this period. The present study focussed on perceptions of college students and teachers about psychological and technological issues that have arisen due to the COVID-19 situation. For the present study, the sample consisted of 135college teachers and students who participated voluntarily. To collect data, the investigator used the survey method. A self-developed questionnaire (Google form entitled COVID-19 Pandemic: Technological and Psychological Perspectives) was used to gather information about the psychological and technological perspectives of teachers and students. Percentage analysis was used to interpret the results. The results of the study showed that only 45% of participants were about technical devices and their usage. More than 65% of the participants experienced physical and psychological stress. Study population was 899 staff, 356 of them were academic staff and 543 were administrative staff. A total of 282 participants completed an online survey that included demographic characteristics of the participants and the 7-item Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale. Findings from this study revealed that a large number of participants (68.8%) got in direct contact with infected people with COVID-19. Anxiety levels varied amount participants as 41.5% of them experienced mild level of anxiety, 15.6% moderate and 1.8% severe levels of anxiety while 36.2% did not manifest anxiety. Factors that have negative correlation with level of anxiety were age and years of experience (P= 0.01). While factors that have statistically significant differences with the total score included: sex (p = 0.035), having been infected with Corona virus (p = 0.033), having a family member infected with Coronal virus (p = 0.008) and if a friend or a relative died with COVID-19 (p = 0.011). Results of N = 1,826 higher education students indicate that they seem to be ready for digital learning. A k-means cluster analysis revealed two groups of students that significantly differed with respect to their readiness for digital learning (in terms of technology equipment availability, prior experiences with e-learning, and skills for digital learning). Finally, students' socio-emotional perceptions, that is, stress-related emotions (worries, tension, joy, and overload) as well as social and emotional loneliness significantly differed due to cluster membership. We collected questionnaire data from university students (N = 894) in three European countries: Greece, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Data were collected between 7th April 2020 and 19th June 2020, representing a period covering the first lockdown and university closures in these countries and across Europe generally. The purpose of the literature review was to consolidate evidence for the prevalence of anxiety among students of higher education during the COVID-19 pandemic and to underscore the effect of various pandemic-related factors on this anxiety. Methods A comprehensive literature search was conducted utilizing various databases such as MEDLINE, PsycInfo Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, Scopus, and Embase to identify relevant studies. To be incorporated in this review, studies had to include students of higher education, measure the prevalence of anxiety, and assess anxiety during Covid-19 pandemic. Results 37 studies met the inclusion criteria and assessed the prevalence of anxiety among students during confinement. Studies showed that more than one-third of the students suffered from anxiety during the early stages of the pandemic. Moreover, being a female, living in rural areas, facing financial hardship, working full-time, spending the quarantine in isolation, worrying about infection for themselves and others, having the uncertainty of the future, having reduced sleep quality, and transitioning to online learning, were factors associated with increased anxiety during the pandemic. Conclusion Anxiety was shown to be highly prevalent among the student population during the Covid-19 pandemic.
