And he answered, saying, My name, Legion: for we are many. <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/5-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span>And he besought him much that he would not send them out of the country. <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/5-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>And a great herd of swine was feeding there near the mountains. <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/5-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>And all the demons besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we might enter into them. <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/5-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>And quickly Jesus permitted them. <A name="32"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/5-31.htm"><b>31</b></a></span>And his disciples said to him, Seest thou the crowd pressing thee, and sayest thou, Who has touched me? <A name="33"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/5-32.htm"><b>32</b></a></span>And he looked round about to see her having done this. <A name="34"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/5-33.htm"><b>33</b></a></span>And the woman, afraid and trembling, having known what bad been upon her, came and fell down before him, and spake all the truth to him. <A name="35"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/5-34.htm"><b>34</b></a></span>And he said to her, Daughter, thy faith has saved thee; retire in peace, and be whole from thy plague.<p> <A name="36"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/5-35.htm"><b>35</b></a></span>He yet speaking, they come from the ruler of the synagogue, saying, That thy daughter is dead: why yet dost thou importune the Teacher? <A name="37"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/5-36.htm"><b>36</b></a></span>And Jesus having quickly heard the word spoken, says to the ruler of the synagogue, Fear not, only believe. <A name="38"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/5-37.htm"><b>37</b></a></span>And he permitted not any to follow him, except Peter, and James, and John the brother of James. <A name="39"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/5-38.htm"><b>38</b></a></span>And he comes to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and sees an uproar, they weeping and wailing much. <A name="40"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/5-39.htm"><b>39</b></a></span>And having time in, he says to them, Why make ye an uproar, and weep? the young child is not dead, but sleeps. <A name="41"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/5-40.htm"><b>40</b></a></span>And they laughed at him. And he, having cast them all out, takes the father and mother of the young child, and those with him, and goes where the young child was lying. <A name="42"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/5-41.htm"><b>41</b></a></span>And having taken the hand of the young child, he says to her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Little girl, I say to thee, arise. <A name="43"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/mark/5-42.htm"><b>42</b></a></span>And the little girl arose quickly, and walked; for she was of twelve years.
