<tr><td> <p>Upon timely request, the Florida Legislature will make available a sign language interpreter for the deaf and hard of hearing for chamber sessions, committee meetings, and legislatively-scheduled public events. </p> <p>Upon timely request, the Florida Legislature will also make available a sign language interpreter for confirmed meetings with legislative Members and/or staff if an interpreter is not already accompanying the hearing impaired individual. Organizations or associations that require sign language interpreter services for their membership will be accommodated as a group. </p> <p>Requests for interpreters should be made in writing to the named contacts below. Requests for services must reference the specific event necessitating the provision of interpreter services, i.e., a session of the legislature, a committee meeting, a public event, or a meeting with members and/or staff. The request must also include the date, time, and duration the services are required. If the request is for a conference or meeting with members or staff, to facilitate scheduling the requestor must have a confirmed appointment at the time of the request and must state with whom, when, and where the conference or meeting will take place. <p> <p>Requests must be made at least three full business days before the time services are needed.
