She has served as president of the international KfV – Kommission f眉r Volksdichtung, two terms on the Executive Board of the Soci茅t茅 Internationale d鈥橢thnologie et Folklore (S.I.E.F.), convener of the Italian Section and of the Mediterranean Studies Section of the American Folklore Society.</p> <p>In 2008, Luisa was elected an Honorary Fellow of the American Folklore Society for her cumulative scholarly contributions to the field of Folklore studies. In October of 2008 she was also knighted by the President of the Italian Republic (<em>Ordine della Stella della Solidariet脿 Italiana (OSSI), nel grado di Cavaliere</em>).
