The items he made were essential for the temple's sacrificial system. Pots were used for boiling the sacrificial meat, shovels for removing ashes from the altar, and sprinkling bowls for the ritual sprinkling of blood, symbolizing purification and atonement. These tools highlight the detailed and practical aspects of worship in the temple, reflecting the importance of ritual purity and the meticulous care in maintaining the sacred space.
So Huram finished all the work that he had undertaken for King Solomon
This phrase underscores the completion of a significant project, emphasizing the fulfillment of a divine plan. Huram's work was not just a display of craftsmanship but a fulfillment of the covenantal promise to David that his son Solomon would build a house for the Lord. The completion of the temple's furnishings signifies the readiness of the temple for worship and the presence of God among His people. It also reflects the cooperation between Israel and Tyre, showcasing a period of peace and prosperity under Solomon's reign.
in the house of the LORD:
The "house of the LORD" refers to the temple in Jerusalem, a central place of worship for the Israelites. It was the dwelling place of God's presence, symbolized by the Ark of the Covenant in the Holy of Holies. The temple served as a physical representation of God's covenant with Israel and was a place where sacrifices and offerings were made. The construction and furnishing of the temple were seen as a fulfillment of God's promise to dwell among His people, and it foreshadows the coming of Jesus Christ, who is described as the true temple, the dwelling place of God with humanity.
Persons / Places / Events
1. Hiram
A skilled craftsman from Tyre, known for his expertise in bronze work. The verse describes the completion of Hiram's work by the making of the smaller vessels.
It is curious that no mention is made of the construction of the brasen altar. It has been supposed by some that the old altar reared by David (2Samuel 24:25) was retained. But in 2Chronicles 4:1, and in Josephus's account, it is expressly said that a brasen altar was made by Hiram, 30 feet square and 15 feet high. Probably, therefore, the absence of all mention of it here is simply an omission in the record.

Pulpit Commentary
Verse 40. - And Hiram made the layers [So the Rec.
