This is why only a limited number of indicators were selected, primarily sourced from the International Labour Organisation (ILO) “Modelled estimates and projections” dataset. This is one of the few data sources providing comprehensive and longitudinal data for the target countries. Two additional data sources were also used: the economic data, compiled by the World Bank as well as the results of the OECD’s Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA).</p> <p>The information on skills and employment, as compiled on this website, is organized in the following manner: The cross-country overview provides a high-level summary view of the indicators covered in the analysis. The rest of the sections provide more details about each of the domains covered by the dataset. The data is disaggregated across countries and over time, also looking at gender breakdowns and, where available, age breakdowns. The data is sourced directly from above mentioned organizations and is automatically updated. For most indicators, it covers the time period from early 1990s up to 2020; in some cases, it also includes short-term forecasts. Even for countries who currently collect such data, historical data-series may suffer from missing observations. Therefore, to ensure data coverage across countries and time, the ILO imputes observations when original data is missing. Such observations are thus not based on national data, are subject to high uncertainty and should not be used for direct country-to-country comparison or ranking. Furthermore, ILO modelled estimates are harmonized to account for differences in national data and scope of coverage, collection and tabulation methodologies as well as for other country-specific factors.
