<A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/28-9.htm#aramaic"><b>9</b></a></span>And Esau went on to Ishmayl and he took Besmath, daughter of Ishmayl, son of Abraham, the sister of Nebiuth, in addition to his wives, as a wife for himself.<p> <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/28-10.htm#aramaic"><b>10</b></a></span>And Yaquuv went out from Beersheba to go to Kharan. <A name="12"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/28-11.htm#aramaic"><b>11</b></a></span>And he arrived in the place and he spent the night there because the sun had set, and he took from the stones of the place and laid his pillow and slept in that place. <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/28-12.htm#aramaic"><b>12</b></a></span>And he saw in a dream, and behold, a staircase set up on the earth, and the top met Heaven, and behold, the Angels of God were going up and coming down on it. <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/28-13.htm#aramaic"><b>13</b></a></span>And behold LORD JEHOVAH was standing above it, and LORD JEHOVAH said: &#8220;I AM the God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac; the land upon which you lie I shall give to you and to your seed; <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/28-14.htm#aramaic"><b>14</b></a></span>And your seed will be as the dust of the Earth and you will multiply to the East and to the West and to the North and to the South, and in you and in your seed all the generations of the Earth will be blessed. <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/28-15.htm#aramaic"><b>15</b></a></span>And see, I am with you and I shall keep you wherever you will go, and I shall return you to this land and I shall not leave you until I shall do whatever I have said to you.&#8221; <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/28-16.htm#aramaic"><b>16</b></a></span>And Yaquuv was awakened from his sleep and he said, &#8220;Truly, LORD JEHOVAH is in this place and I not have known.&#8221; <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/parallel/genesis/28-17.htm#aramaic"><b>17</b></a></span>And Yaquuv feared a great fear and said, &#8220;How awesome is this place today!
