</p> <h2>Changes this Year</h2> <p>We’re mixing up the formula for the 4th annual php[world] this year, based upon feedback from past attendees. Condensing the schedule to <strong>two days</strong>, including <strong>workshops throughout the conference</strong>, and offering <strong>more training classes</strong> are just the start.</p> <p>The biggest announcement is that are able to <strong>lower the price significantly</strong> this year, from $895 to only <strong>$425 ($325 Early Bird) </strong>while still supporting our speakers and providing a great experience. We might be crazy, but we want this conference to be accessible to everyone, we hope you agree that this is a great direction.</p> <h2></h2> <h2>The Venue</h2> <p>We still are using the <a href="http://world2017.multi.phparch.com/location/">Sheraton Premiere at Tyson’s Corner</a>, and amazing venue just outside of Washington, D.C. It sits directly across from the <strong>Spring Hill metro station</strong> on the Silver Line, and is easily accessible from both airports in the area (<strong><a href="http://www.flydulles.com/iad/dulles-international-airport">IAD</a></strong> and <strong><a href="http://www.flyreagan.com/dca/reagan-national-airport">DCA</a></strong>).</p> <p>Visit our <a href="http://world2017.multi.phparch.com/location/">Location</a> page for more information.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </div> <div class="col col-md-6" > </p> <h2>Why php[world]?</h2> <p>PHP as a language and a community has been rapidly changing in the last few years. A staggering <strong>82% of the Web</strong> runs on PHP, and those websites are built on frameworks such as Drupal, WordPress, Magento, Symfony, ZF and Laravel, each of which has their own strong community. We created a conference designed to appeal to all these communities and bring them together. Hence, php[world] was born. An event intended to bring the entire world of PHP together in one place, to encourage cross-pollination of ideas and sharing of ideals.</p> <p>It proved a success as these communities came together, worked, shared information, held an impromptu PHP-FIG meeting and much more.
