He has been engaged in developing image-pickup equipment and video coding technologies for TV telephone and convention equipment. <br> He is now working on research and development of image processing and driving technologies for flat panel displays, especially LCDs and new display applications such as AR and VR. </p> <p align="justify"><u>Work experience</u></p> <ul> <li>1983 – 2002: Toshiba Corporation, Central Research Laboratories, researcher. </li> <li>2002 – 2004: Toshiba Corporation, Senior Manager (Laboratory Leader). </li> <li>2004 – 2014: Toshiba Corporation, Chief research Scientist. </li> <li>2014 – 2018: Toshiba Research and Consulting Corp. Senior Fellow.</li> <li>2018 – : Toshiba Corporation, Senior Fellow.</li> <li>2012 – : Chiba University, Guest Professor; Kanagawa Institute of Technologies, Part-time lecturer</li> <li>2019 – : Waseda University, Part time lecturer</li> <li>2020 – : Tottori University, Part-time lecturer; Tokushima University, Part-time lecturer</li> <li>2021 – : KyunHee University (Korea), Part time lecturer</li> </ul> <h1><img src="style/images/Takana Kaho.jpg" width="137"><br>Prof. Takana Kaho<br> Shonan Institute of Technology, Japan</h1> <p><strong>Speech title: Research on Phased Array Antenna for Beyond 5G Mobile Communications and NTN</strong></p> <p align="justify">Takana Kaho received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in physics from Tokyo Metropolitan University, Japan, in 1994 and 1996 respectively. She received the Dr. Eng. degree in communication engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, in 2007. From 1996 to 2019, she was engaged in research on satellite equipment and RFICs for wireless systems at NTT Laboratories. From 2010 to 2012, she was a Visiting Associate Professor at Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan. From 2014 to 2017, she was a Visiting Associate Professor at Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan. From 2016 to 2019, she was a Visiting Professor at Osaka University, Osaka, Japan. She received the Japan Microwave Prize at the 1998 Asia Pacific Microwave Conference and the Young Researchers’ Award in 2004 presented by IEICE. She received a Best Paper Award from IEICE in 2015, and 2017. </p> <h1> <img src="style/images/Pei-Jun Lee.jpg" width="137"><br> Prof. Pei-Jun Lee <br> National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taiwan</h1> <p><strong>Speech title: Edge AI for Remote Sensing: Challenge and Evolution</strong></p> <p align="justify">Pei-Jun Lee received the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Taiwan University in 2004. In August 2015, she was promoted to Distinguished Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Chi Nan University, Taiwan. She got high cited paper award of NCNU in 2016. Since August 2021, she has been a Professor with the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taiwan. She became an IET Fellow and a Senior Member of IEEE in 2015 and 2014, respectively. In recognition of her research performance, she was selected as a special outstanding talent award by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and Ministry of Education (MOE) in Taiwan since 2010 and 2015, respectively. She was the president of Taiwan Consumer Electronics Sociality 2018-2022 and now she is IEEE CTSoc Taipei Chapter Chair. Her research interests include AI image processing, 2D/3D image conversion, 3D/Multi-view video coding, video communication, video compression, satellite image processing and FPGA system application. Dr. Lee has led more than 40 research projects sponsored by NSTC, Industrial circles, and MOEA in Taiwan. In the past ten years, she has received projects from the National Space Organization (NSPO), Taiwan and the NSTC, Taiwan, which regarding the design of remote sensing image processing FPGA design and the development of Edge AI in satellite. The research results get the Future Tech Award in 2022. </p> <h1> <img src="style/images/jwkim.jpg" width="137"><br> Prof. JongWon Kim <br> Gwangju Institute of Science & Technology (GIST), Korea</h1> <p align="justify">Jongwon Kim received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in control and instrumentation engineering from Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea, in 1987, 1989, and 1994, respectively. From 1994 to 2001, he was a Faculty Member with Kongju National University, Kongju, South Korea, and the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA, USA. In 2001, he joined the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), Gwangju, South Korea, where he is currently a Full Professor. Since 2008, he has been directing the GIST SuperComputing Center. Since 2019, he started to work as the Dean of the GIST AI Graduate School. He is also leading the Networked Computing Systems Laboratory, where he is involved in dynamic and resource-aware composition of media-centric service employing programmable/virtualized computing/networking resources. His research interests include agile and visible p+v+c function-leveraged composition of SmartX IoT-cloud services employing programmable/sliced/hyper-converged (computing/storage/networking) resources.</p> </div> <br> <header class="entry-header"> <h1 class="entry-title">Invited Speaker</h1> </header><!-- .entry-header --> <div class="entry-content"> <h1><img src="style/images/speaker.png" width="150"> <br>Prof. Hideya So<br> Shonan Institute of Technology, Japan </h1> <p>Hideya So (Member, IEEE) received the B.E. degree from the Tokyo University of Science, Japan, in 2009, and the M.E. and Dr.Eng. degrees from the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, in 2011 and 2021, respectively. From 2011 to 2021, he was with NTT Access Network Service Systems Laboratories, NTT Corporation. He engaged in has researched on high-reliability radio access, base station antennas, and adaptive arrays for the future wireless access systems. He currently works with the Shonan Institute of Technology. He is a member of the IEICE.
