The continuum extrapolated masses of all the baryons agree with experiments at the 1\% level. We found that the glue part of the trace anomaly contributes about the same amount to the masses -- $\sim$ 0.8 - 0.95 GeV for the spin 1/2 baryons and $\sim$ 0.95 - 1.1 GeV for the spin 3/2 baryons -- given $纬_m\sim$ 0.3, and the sigma terms from the light, strange, and charm quarks are enhanced by factors of about 5, 2, and 1.3, respectively, compared to the renormalized quark mass themselves at \(\overline{\mathrm{MS}}\) 2 GeV. <a class="is-size-7" style="white-space: nowrap;" onclick="document.getElementById('2411.18402v1-abstract-full').style.display = 'none'; document.getElementById('2411.18402v1-abstract-short').style.display = 'inline';">&#9651; Less</a> </span> </p> <p class="is-size-7"><span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Submitted</span> 27 November, 2024; <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">originally announced</span> November 2024. </p> <p class="comments is-size-7"> <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Comments:</span> <span class="has-text-grey-dark mathjax">13 pages, 9 figures</span> </p> </li> <li class="arxiv-result"> <div class="is-marginless"> <p class="list-title is-inline-block"><a href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2410.13515">arXiv:2410.13515</a> <span>&nbsp;[<a href="https://arxiv.org/pdf/2410.13515">pdf</a>, <a href="https://arxiv.org/format/2410.13515">other</a>]&nbsp;</span> </p> <div class="tags is-inline-block"> <span class="tag is-small is-link tooltip is-tooltip-top" data-tooltip="High Energy Physics - Experiment">hep-ex</span> <span class="tag is-small is-grey tooltip is-tooltip-top" data-tooltip="High Energy Physics - Lattice">hep-lat</span> <span class="tag is-small is-grey tooltip is-tooltip-top" data-tooltip="High Energy Physics - Phenomenology">hep-ph</span> <span class="tag is-small is-grey tooltip is-tooltip-top" data-tooltip="Nuclear Experiment">nucl-ex</span> </div> </div> <p class="title is-5 mathjax"> Observation of a rare beta decay of the charmed baryon with a Graph Neural Network </p> <p class="authors"> <span class="search-hit">Authors:</span> <a href="/search/hep-lat?searchtype=author&amp;query=BESIII+Collaboration"> BESIII Collaboration</a>, <a href="/search/hep-lat?searchtype=author&amp;query=Ablikim%2C+M">M. The $螞_c^+$, being the lightest charmed baryon, undergoes disintegration solely through the charm quark weak decay. Its beta decay provides an ideal laboratory for investigating non-perturbative effects in quantum chromodynamics and for constraining the fundamental parameters of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix in weak interaction theory. This article presents the first observation of the Cabibbo-suppressed $螞_c^+$ beta decay into a neutron $螞_c^+ \rightarrow n e^+ 谓_{e}$, based on $4.5~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ of electron-positron annihilation data collected with the BESIII detector in the energy region above the $螞^+_c\bar螞^-_c$ threshold. A novel machine learning technique, leveraging Graph Neural Networks, has been utilized to effectively separate signals from dominant backgrounds, particularly $螞_c^+ \rightarrow 螞e^+ 谓_{e}$. This approach has yielded a statistical significance of more than $10蟽$. The absolute branching fraction of $螞_c^+ \rightarrow n e^+ 谓_{e}$ is measured to be $(3.57\pm0.34_{\mathrm{stat}}\pm0.14_{\mathrm{syst}})\times 10^{-3}$. For the first time, the CKM matrix element $\left|V_{cd}\right|$ is extracted via a charmed baryon decay to be $0.208\pm0.011_{\rm exp.}\pm0.007_{\rm LQCD}\pm0.001_{蟿_{螞_c^+}}$. This study provides a new probe to further understand fundamental interactions in the charmed baryon sector, and demonstrates the power of modern machine learning techniques in enhancing experimental capability in high energy physics research. <a class="is-size-7" style="white-space: nowrap;" onclick="document.getElementById('2410.13515v1-abstract-full').style.display = 'none'; document.getElementById('2410.13515v1-abstract-short').style.display = 'inline';">&#9651; Less</a> </span> </p> <p class="is-size-7"><span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Submitted</span> 17 October, 2024; <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">originally announced</span> October 2024. </p> <p class="comments is-size-7"> <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Comments:</span> <span class="has-text-grey-dark mathjax">28 pages, 6 figures</span> </p> </li> <li class="arxiv-result"> <div class="is-marginless"> <p class="list-title is-inline-block"><a href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2408.03548">arXiv:2408.03548</a> <span>&nbsp;[<a href="https://arxiv.org/pdf/2408.03548">pdf</a>, <a href="https://arxiv.org/format/2408.03548">other</a>]&nbsp;</span> </p> <div class="tags is-inline-block"> <span class="tag is-small is-link tooltip is-tooltip-top" data-tooltip="High Energy Physics - Lattice">hep-lat</span> </div> </div> <p class="title is-5 mathjax"> Charmed meson masses and decay constants in the continuum from the tadpole improved clover ensembles </p> <p class="authors"> <span class="search-hit">Authors:</span> <a href="/search/hep-lat?searchtype=author&amp;query=Du%2C+H">Hai-Yang Du</a>, <a href="/search/hep-lat?searchtype=author&amp;query=Hu%2C+B">Bolun Hu</a>, <a href="/search/hep-lat?searchtype=author&amp;query=Chen%2C+Y">Ying Chen</a>, <a href="/search/hep-lat?searchtype=author&amp;query=Ding%2C+H">Heng-Tong Ding</a>, <a href="/search/hep-lat?searchtype=author&amp;query=Liu%2C+C">Chuan Liu</a>, <a href="/search/hep-lat?searchtype=author&amp;query=Liu%2C+L">Liuming Liu</a>, <a href="/search/hep-lat?searchtype=author&amp;query=Meng%2C+Y">Yu Meng</a>, <a href="/search/hep-lat?searchtype=author&amp;query=Sun%2C+P">Peng Sun</a>, <a href="/search/hep-lat?searchtype=author&amp;query=Wang%2C+J">Ji-Hao Wang</a>, <a href="/search/hep-lat?searchtype=author&amp;query=Yang%2C+Y">Yi-Bo Yang</a>, <a href="/search/hep-lat?searchtype=author&amp;query=Zhao%2C+D">Dian-Jun Zhao</a> </p> <p class="abstract mathjax"> <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Abstract</span>: <span class="abstract-short has-text-grey-dark mathjax" id="2408.03548v2-abstract-short" style="display: inline;"> We present the determination of the charm quark mass, the masses and decay constants of charmed mesons using thirteen 2+1 flavor full-QCD gauge ensembles at five different lattice spacings $a\in[0.05,0.11]$ fm, 8 pion masses $m_蟺\in(130,360)$ MeV, and several values of the strange quark mass, which facilitate us to do the chiral and continuum extrapolation. These ensembles are generated through the stout smeared clover fermion action and Symanzik gauge actions with the tadpole improvement. Using QED-subtracted $D_s$ meson mass and non-perturbative renormalization, we predict the charm quark mass in the continuum with physical light and strange quark masses to be {$m_c(m_c)=1.289(17)$} GeV in $\overline{\textrm{MS}}$ scheme, with the systematic uncertainties from lattice spacing determination, renormalization constant, {and fit ansatz} included. Predictions of the open and close charm mesons using this charm quark mass agree with the experimental value at 0.3\% level uncertainty. We obtained {$D_{(s)}$ decay constants and also by far the most precise $D_{(s)}^*$ decay constants $f_{D^*}=0.2321(43)$ GeV and $f_{D^*_s}=0.2743(34)$ GeV}, with the charm quark improved vector current normalization. <a class="is-size-7" style="white-space: nowrap;" onclick="document.getElementById('2408.03548v2-abstract-full').style.display = 'none'; document.getElementById('2408.03548v2-abstract-short').style.display = 'inline';">&#9651; Less</a> </span> </p> <p class="is-size-7"><span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Submitted</span> 8 August, 2024; <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">v1</span> submitted 7 August, 2024; <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">originally announced</span> August 2024. </p> <p class="comments is-size-7"> <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Comments:</span> <span class="has-text-grey-dark mathjax">14 pages, 14 figures</span> </p> </li> <li class="arxiv-result"> <div class="is-marginless"> <p class="list-title is-inline-block"><a href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2403.01378">arXiv:2403.01378</a> <span>&nbsp;[<a href="https://arxiv.org/pdf/2403.01378">pdf</a>, <a href="https://arxiv.org/format/2403.01378">other</a>]&nbsp;</span> </p> <div class="tags is-inline-block"> <span class="tag is-small is-link tooltip is-tooltip-top" data-tooltip="High Energy Physics - Lattice">hep-lat</span> <span class="tag is-small is-grey tooltip is-tooltip-top" data-tooltip="High Energy Physics - Phenomenology">hep-ph</span> </div> </div> <p class="title is-5 mathjax"> Spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking and mass gap of QCD in finite volume </p> <p class="authors"> <span class="search-hit">Authors:</span> <a href="/search/hep-lat?searchtype=author&amp;query=Meng%2C+X">Xiaolan Meng</a>, <a href="/search/hep-lat?searchtype=author&amp;query=Hu%2C+B">Bolun Hu</a>, <a href="/search/hep-lat?searchtype=author&amp;query=Yang%2C+Y">Yi-Bo Yang</a> </p> <p class="abstract mathjax"> <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Abstract</span>: <span class="abstract-short has-text-grey-dark mathjax" id="2403.01378v1-abstract-short" style="display: inline;"> We present the lattice QCD simulation with the 2+1+1 flavor full QCD ensembles using near-physical quark masses and different spatial sizes $L$, at $a\sim$ 0.055 fm. Unitary Chiral Perturbation Theory describes these data well around the resonance region and for different pion masses. Moreover, it allows to extrapolate to the physical point and estimate the effect of the missing $K\bar{K}$ channel in the two-flavor lattice calculation. The absence of the strange quark in the lattice data leads to a lower $蟻$ mass, and the analysis with U$蠂$PT shows that the $K \bar{K}$ channel indeed pushes the $蟺蟺$-scattering phase shift upward, having a surprisingly large effect on the $蟻$-mass. The inelasticity is shown to be compatible with the experimental data. The analysis is then extended to all available two-flavor lattice simulations and similar mass shifts are observed. Chiral extrapolations of $N_f = 2 + 1$ lattice simulations for the $蟻(770)$ are also reported. <a class="is-size-7" style="white-space: nowrap;" onclick="document.getElementById('1611.04536v1-abstract-full').style.display = 'none'; document.getElementById('1611.04536v1-abstract-short').style.display = 'inline';">&#9651; Less</a> </span> </p> <p class="is-size-7"><span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Submitted</span> 14 November, 2016; <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">originally announced</span> November 2016. </p> <p class="comments is-size-7"> <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Comments:</span> <span class="has-text-grey-dark mathjax">11 pages, 9 figures</span> </p> </li> <li class="arxiv-result"> <div class="is-marginless"> <p class="list-title is-inline-block"><a href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1610.10070">arXiv:1610.10070</a> <span>&nbsp;[<a href="https://arxiv.org/pdf/1610.10070">pdf</a>, <a href="https://arxiv.org/ps/1610.10070">ps</a>, <a href="https://arxiv.org/format/1610.10070">other</a>]&nbsp;</span> </p> <div class="tags is-inline-block"> <span class="tag is-small is-link tooltip is-tooltip-top" data-tooltip="High Energy Physics - Lattice">hep-lat</span> <span class="tag is-small is-grey tooltip is-tooltip-top" data-tooltip="Nuclear Theory">nucl-th</span> </div> </div> <p class="title is-5 mathjax"> Chiral Extrapolation of the Sigma Resonance </p> <p class="authors"> <span class="search-hit">Authors:</span> <a href="/search/hep-lat?searchtype=author&amp;query=D%C3%B6ring%2C+M">Michael D枚ring</a>, <a href="/search/hep-lat?searchtype=author&amp;query=Hu%2C+B">Bin Hu</a>, <a href="/search/hep-lat?searchtype=author&amp;query=Mai%2C+M">Maxim Mai</a> </p> <p class="abstract mathjax"> <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Abstract</span>: <span class="abstract-short has-text-grey-dark mathjax" id="1610.10070v1-abstract-short" style="display: inline;"> We analyze recent results on isoscalar $蟺蟺$ scattering from a $N_f=2+1$ lattice simulation by the HadronSpectrum collaboration by re-summing the two-flavor chiral scattering amplitude of the next-to-leading order in the so-called inverse amplitude method. While the chiral extrapolation of $N_f=2$ lattice data leads to masses of the $蟻(770)$ meson far below the experimental one, we find that the missing $K\bar{K}$ channel is able to explain this discrepancy. <a class="is-size-7" style="white-space: nowrap;" onclick="document.getElementById('1605.04823v2-abstract-full').style.display = 'none'; document.getElementById('1605.04823v2-abstract-short').style.display = 'inline';">&#9651; Less</a> </span> </p> <p class="is-size-7"><span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Submitted</span> 20 August, 2016; <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">v1</span> submitted 16 May, 2016; <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">originally announced</span> May 2016. </p> <p class="comments is-size-7"> <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Comments:</span> <span class="has-text-grey-dark mathjax">5 pages, 3 figures, as accepted by PRL</span> </p> <p class="comments is-size-7"> <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Report number:</span> JLAB-THY-16-2316 </p> <p class="comments is-size-7"> <span class="has-text-black-bis has-text-weight-semibold">Journal ref:</span> Phys.
