He is meeting with commissioner Roger Goodell Tuesday to discuss the Bountygate scandal."/></p><p>NEW YORK -- The NFL pulled the plug on one of Tuesday's meetings with players implicated in the New Orleans Saints Bountygate scandal, and the other two players met with commissioner Roger Goodell for approximately three hours, then left without speaking to the media.</p><p>Cleveland Browns linebacker Scott Fujita did not meet with Goodell and the NFL's legal team Tuesday because the league was not interested in chatting via teleconference, league spokesman Greg Aiello said.</p><p>Fujita, who was initially suspended three games by Goodell, was told by doctors not to take a flight while rehabbing his injured knee. The NFL Players Association was trying to set up the teleconference, but the league preferred to postpone in favor of a face-to-face meeting. </p><p>Meanwhile, free-agent defensive lineman Anthony Hargrove and Saints defensive end Will Smith had their afternoon sit-downs, then left around 4 p.m..</p><p>Linebacker Jonathan Vilma had his meeting on Monday and was presented with a declaration from former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, who said Vilma offered $10,000 to anyone who knocked Brett Favre out of the 2010 NFC Championship Game, according to a person with knowledge of the meeting. </p><p>Vilma's lawyer, Peter Ginsberg, told USA TODAY Sports that Williams' declaration, signed last Friday, was merely a reiteration of what he believes are old, false statements. He said Vilma has statements from "eight or nine" people who will contradict what Williams has said.</p><p>Each of the four players was on the Saints 2009 to 2011, when the NFL says coaches and players offered cash rewards for big hits. They were suspended by Goodell for their alleged roles.
