(W.A., N.T.) is recircumscribed and <i>S.</i> <i>evolutum</i> Carlquist (N.T.) reinstated to its original circumscription. Narrower circumscriptions of <i>S.</i> <i>fissilobum</i> F.Muell. (W.A., N.T.) and <i>S.</i> <i>multiscapum</i> O.Schwarz (W.A., N.T.) are presented and a lectotype designated for the latter. <i>Stylidium</i> <i>tenerum</i> Spreng. (N.T., Qld, P.N.G.) is placed into synonymy under <i>S.</i> <i>uliginosum</i> Sw. ex Willd. (south-east Asia), and <i>S.</i> <i>symonii</i> Carlquist (N.T.) synonymised under <i>S.</i> <i>floodii</i> F.Muell. (N.T., Qld). <i>Stylidium</i> <i>elachophyllum</i> A.R.Bean & M.T.Mathieson (Qld) and <i>S.</i> <i>irriguum</i> W.Fitzg. (W.A.) are recorded for the Northern Territory, while <i>S.</i> <i>aquaticum</i> A.R.Bean (N.T.) and <i>S.</i> <i>capillare</i> R.Br. (N.T., Qld) are recorded for Western Australia. A record of <i>S.</i> <i>longibracteatum</i> (W.A.) from Kata Tjuta in the Northern Territory is highlighted as having potentially unreliable locality information. Lectotypes are selected for <i>S.</i> <i>claytonioides</i> W.Fitzg., <i>S.</i> <i>cordifolium</i> W.Fitzg., <i>S.</i> <i>irriguum</i> W.Fitzg., <i>S.</i> <i>rubriscapum</i> W.Fitzg. and <i>S.</i> <i>trichopodum</i> F.Muell. Both <i>S.</i> <i>pseudotenellum</i> O.Schwartz and <i>S.</i> <i>mitrasacmoides</i> F.Muell. are treated as names of uncertain application.
