That’s how they persecuted the prophets who came before you.” Salt and Light in the World(<a href="http://isv.scripturetext.com/mark/9.htm">Mark 9:50</a>; <a href="http://isv.scripturetext.com/luke/14.htm">Luke 14:34-35</a>)<a href="http://biblehub.com/matthew/5-13.htm">13</a>“You are the salt of the world. But if the salt should lose its taste, how can it be made salty again? A city located on a hill can’t be hidden. <a href="http://biblehub.com/matthew/5-15.htm">15</a>People<a href="#ftn" title="5:15 Lit. They">i</a> don’t light a lamp and put it under a basket but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. <a href="http://biblehub.com/matthew/5-16.htm">16</a>In the same way, let your light shine before people in such a way that they will see your good actions and glorify your Father in heaven.” Jesus Fulfills the Law and the Prophets<a href="http://biblehub.com/matthew/5-17.htm">17</a>“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I didn’t come to destroy them, but to fulfill them, <a href="http://biblehub.com/matthew/5-18.htm">18</a>because I tell all of you<a href="#ftn" title="5:18 The Gk. pronoun you is pl.">j</a> with certainty that until heaven and earth disappear, not one letter<a href="#ftn" title="5:18 Lit. one iota">k</a> or one stroke of a letter will disappear from the Law until everything has been accomplished. <a href="http://biblehub.com/matthew/5-19.htm">19</a>So whoever sets aside<a href="#ftn" title="5:19 Or breaks">l</a> one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom from<a href="#ftn" title="5:19 Lit. of">m</a> heaven.
