The results showed that the application of management control systems in cottage industries can improve operational efficiency, optimize the use of resources, and improve the quality of products or services. The role of information technology is also an important aspect in supporting the implementation of management control systems on a cottage industry scale. In addition, government support and training for home-based business owners are determining factors for the success of implementing this system. In applying AIS to SMEs, the author analyzes that there are advantages to its application, namely improving internal control and management decision-making capabilities. However, research also identifies several obstacles faced by SMEs in implementing AIS, such as limited skilled human resources, high implementation costs, and resistance to change. Therefore, there is a need for government support, employee training, and a better understanding of the benefits of AIS to overcome these obstacles. This research contributes to SMEs in understanding the importance of implementing AIS as an effective tool in managing financial information.
