If thy brother may sin, rebuke him; if he may repent, forgive him.<Fr> <A name="5"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-4.htm"><b>4</b></a></span><FR>But if he may sin against thee seven times a day, and seven times turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.<Fr><p> <A name="6"></a><p class="hdg">The Power of Faith<br /><span class="cross">(<a href ="../matthew/17.htm#19">Matthew 17:19–20</a>)</span><p><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-5.htm"><b>5</b></a></span>And the apostles said to the Lord, Increase our faith. <A name="7"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-6.htm"><b>6</b></a></span>And the Lord said, <FR>If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you should say to this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up, and planted in the sea; and it would obey you.<Fr><p> <A name="8"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-7.htm"><b>7</b></a></span><FR>But which one of you, having a servant plowing or serving a shepherd, who will say to him, having come in from the field, Coming hither sit down immediately?<Fr> <A name="9"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-8.htm"><b>8</b></a></span><FR>But will he not say to him, Prepare what I may sup, and girding thyself, minister unto me, until I may eat and drink; and after these things you eat and drink?<Fr> <A name="10"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-9.htm"><b>9</b></a></span><FR>Whether does he thank the servant because he did the things which were commanded?<Fr> <A name="11"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-10.htm"><b>10</b></a></span><FR>Likewise also, when you may do those things which are commanded you, say that, We are unprofitable servants; we have done that which we ought to do.<Fr><p> <A name="12"></a><p class="hdg">The Ten Lepers<p><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-11.htm"><b>11</b></a></span>And it came to pass, while He was journeying to Jerusalem, and He was going through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. <A name="13"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-12.htm"><b>12</b></a></span>He coming into a certain village, ten lepers met Him, who stood afar off; <A name="14"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-13.htm"><b>13</b></a></span>and lifting up their voice, saying, Thou, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. <A name="15"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-14.htm"><b>14</b></a></span>And seeing, He said to them, <FR>Go and show yourselves to the priest.<Fr> And it came to pass while they were going, they were cleansed: <A name="16"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-15.htm"><b>15</b></a></span>and one of them, seeing that he was healed, returned, with a loud voice glorifying God, <A name="17"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-16.htm"><b>16</b></a></span>and he fell upon his face at His feet, giving thanks to Him: and he was a Samaritan. <A name="18"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-17.htm"><b>17</b></a></span>And Jesus responding said, <FR>Were not the ten cleansed?<Fr> <A name="19"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-18.htm"><b>18</b></a></span><FR>Where are the nine? And they were not found returning to give thanks to God, except this one foreigner.<Fr> <A name="20"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-19.htm"><b>19</b></a></span>And He said to him, <FR>having arisen, go: thy faith hath saved thee.<Fr><p> <A name="21"></a><p class="hdg">The Coming of the Kingdom<p><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-20.htm"><b>20</b></a></span>Then being interrogated by the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God is coming, He responded to them and said, <FR>The kingdom of God comes not with observation:<Fr> <A name="22"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-21.htm"><b>21</b></a></span><FR>neither will they say; Lo, here! or, there! for behold, the kingdom of God is among you.<Fr><p> <A name="23"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-22.htm"><b>22</b></a></span>And He said to the disciples, <FR>The days will come, when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and will not see it.<Fr> <A name="24"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-23.htm"><b>23</b></a></span><FR>And they will say to you, Lo, here! lo, there! go not away, nor follow them.<Fr> <A name="25"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-24.htm"><b>24</b></a></span><FR>For as the lightning, flashing out of the one part under the heaven, gleams into the other part under heaven, so shall be the Son of man in His day.<Fr> <A name="26"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-25.htm"><b>25</b></a></span><FR>But it behooves Him first to suffer many things and to be set at nought by this generation.<Fr> <A name="27"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-26.htm"><b>26</b></a></span><FR>And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be in the days of the Son of man.<Fr> <A name="28"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-27.htm"><b>27</b></a></span><FR>They were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were getting married, until the day on which Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.<Fr> <A name="29"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-28.htm"><b>28</b></a></span><FR>Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building;<Fr> <A name="30"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-29.htm"><b>29</b></a></span><FR>and on the day on which Lot went out from Sodom, fire and brimstone rained from heaven and destroyed them all.<Fr> <A name="31"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-30.htm"><b>30</b></a></span><FR>According to these things it will be in the day the Son of man is revealed.<Fr> <A name="32"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-31.htm"><b>31</b></a></span><FR>In that day, let not him who is on the house, and his goods in the house, come down to take them: and likewise let not him who is in the field turn back.<Fr> <A name="33"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-32.htm"><b>32</b></a></span><FR>Remember Lot's wife.<Fr> <A name="34"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-33.htm"><b>33</b></a></span><FR>Whosoever may seek to save his soul shall lose it: and whosoever shall lose it shall find it.<Fr> <A name="35"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-34.htm"><b>34</b></a></span><FR>I say unto you, on that night two men shall be on one bed; the one shall be taken and the other left.<Fr> <A name=""></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-35.htm"><b>35</b></a></span><FR>Two women shall be grinding at the same mill; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.<Fr> <A name="37"></a><span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-35.htm"><b>36</b></a></span> <span class="reftext"><a href="/luke/17-35.htm"><b>37</b></a></span>Responding they say to Him, Where, Lord?
